Yeah the park is worst because they refuse to invest on it and advertise it

On my channel so many people didn’t even know it’s existed until I went live there

They put zero marketing into into it

Like Disney Witt the muppets these companies have zero ideas and don’t ask fans what they want to see

But also having a summer only park can’t make you much more how can be open 4 months even break even with property taxes in the state?

Plus I heard multiple slides were down this dummer

They need a big attraction like a dark ride or special theater where they can do many shows to get people but they haven’t added one attraction since it opened as Sesame Street place just the buffet

Once again and I will it up all the time HHN proves people will spend money but you need to listen to fans and put money into the park, heck USH has no hotel either and once again not stopping them from making bank when they listen to consumers

Losing (or dropping) the rights of Sesame Street will be a significant revenue blow to SeaWorld parks. The lands are always packed from what I observe at SWO/BGT, and they push the heck out of Sesame merch.

I'd imagine they can't be that stupid to let go of that IP.

The likely scenario is that the park isn't seeing the demand to justify winter operations, so they'd rather projtect the park's profit margin over any additional revenue/expenses.

I also can't imagine that Sesame Workshop can afford to lose the income from United Parks. Sesame Workshop is possibly in worse shape financially than UP is. They need each other at this point.

Lol

They are going to make nothing for 7 months

Plus trust is lost. This won’t help much yet

Correct me if I’m wrong but I’m one of the only one here is a pass and all the groups I’m in talking about are not happy and for sure this will end in a lawsuit meaning bad press and lost in fund plus they won’t make a dime for 7 months and only for 4 months.

I'm not really sure how you come back from this, especially when this park appears to be a bare bones nothing burger.

It is absolutely stunning to me that they would pull half the operating year - including seasonal events - and not proactively offer any compensation or make good to their annual pass holders. I'm not usually one to be like, "they should explore a lawsuit" - and I'm not sure the juice is necessarily worth the squeeze here for any individual pass holder - but there could be a case here if they refuse to make things right.

Seems like annual passholders are at least getting a fun card to SWSD, not sure what's occurring if you already had them bundled though. Also seeing a few people say that employees learned through social media post, ridiculous.

Whether the park is open or closed, they get licensing fees. They won't make a cut of merch sales, but if it was slow enough to warrant closure, they weren't making much in merch sales from that park anyway.

Another 'sick' theme park owner, like the 'sick' Six Flags system. I think we'll see a large number of United and Six Flags parks
sink into the sunset before 2030. These are seriously declining companies with very little upside potential........They are both
paying for poor management decisions for the past decade or two....and they're both on the wrong side of the population
demographic with what their parks are.

Six Flags and other regionals have weathered economic downturns well in the past, and assuming we are in a recession, they could turn things around. If people can’t afford Disney, they’ll spend on their local parks.

Now mis-management could doom them all or create an opportunity for other operators…

Their problem though is that their attraction lineups are so out of balance that they have become one dimensional parks on the wrong side
of demographics. They don't have the money to fix that. And their decline has been while economic conditions were good. Short of Hershend cherry picking a park or two, I doubt anyone wants to get into that business. I would doubt Universal or Disney would be interested into any of those parks. They all need a tremendous cash infusion to fix. Better to build new from the ground up.

With United Parks and Six Flags, for fire sale prices some of those properties might be attractive to Universal not to run as the existing park, but as a place to build their other smaller concept attractions. Many are in prime locations demographically, and it’s harder for neighbors to NIMBY building an attraction where there already is/was one.

Both UP and SF have had private equity people on their boards who have advocated selling the land the parks are built on to a holding company, and then leasing it to the park. If the park fails, they’ll sell the land and walk away. It’s what they did to Sears/KMart until they bled the company to death, and the same could happen here easily…

Yes....Sears/Kmart....and a bad ending......Almost all of these parks put all their chips into coasters, greatly overbuilt with them, and eliminated most everything else. I don't see how they can recuperate from that massive mistake.
