New Nickelodeon Hotel aimed to opening 2026 with character dining, a water play area and SLIME! I do not know how I feel about this, it seems to be taking a minimalist approach, which
... How can you do that with Nickelodeon, the pinnacle of Post-Modern. They are also offering condos if you want to have to deal with screaming children for the rest of your life. I mist say I'm very skeptical over this.

Interesting choice to have no character representation anywhere except a small poster in the rooms. Hopefully the lobby will feature more but this definitely comes across as too reserved for Nickelodeon.

The one opening (opened?) in Turkey this year appears to be more substantial than this. They may have had a bigger budget for the hotel because of the accompanying land but still.

Lived in this area a quarter century, still had to look up this new "neighborhood." Thought this was going to be a race track (motorsport venue not gas station), they even cleared the land. I have my doubts this ever goes vertical.

Tangentially related, from the map I see Houlihan's/Manny's underwent yet another name change ... and still closed again. Good luck to the next crazy dreamer who tries to make a go of it with that building. I practically lived there when it was the World's Fanciest Houlihan's.

I know they're intended as rentals, but as a home-based employee, I'd be sorely tempted just to change my professional address to "Slime Building #123."

Glad I’m not the only one who thought that - I couldn’t remember if I saw an article or someone mentioned it in passing. I eventually convinced myself that I got that mixed up with the little track they built out past Davenport that you can see from I-4.

It might get built with dumb money coming in from somewhere. You can tell the developers aren’t from around here because the website talks about exploring vibrant Old Town… anyone who know better would know 1) it isn’t close and 2) it isn’t vibrant.

I'm intrigued to see if this version works out... I'm leaning towards yes. The original Nick Hotel was aimed specifically at children with very little attention pointed towards the parents/teens. The benefit of a minimalistic Nick hotel is that you allow the kids to still see the characters without making the parents feel out of place there.

The original Nick hotel rooms were not great for the prices they were charging, nor were the restaurants.

The Nick resort in Punta Cana is doing well from what I can tell and this new resort is designed similarly to that one.

I, uh... stumbled into one of the Demo rooms for this new Nick hotel like a month ago. :nervous: Just some random warehouse building in Orlando. Was honestly shocked to see the exact room I stumbled into in the pictures from OP.

From literal first-hand experience, the rooms are nice! :lmao: Definitely a really solid mix of Nick theming and quality hotel room ammentities. Something that stuck out was minimalist metal bracing drooping down the wall painted same color as Nick Slime, that has Backpack straps on it to hold your stuff. Lots of representation from different eras of Nick too. It's cool!

I can understand aiming too far in the direction of kids. I’d also point out that the original kids that grew up with Nickelodeon probably wouldn’t necessarily feel out of place if they’re choosing to come here.

Personally I’d love to see another rendition of the slime geyser or some kind of slime machine built.

Glad the rooms sound nice! Do you remember where this was or have any idea if it’s still open?

Don't really wanna specify too much and get the place in trouble or anything haha. It was around late May of this year though. I honestly had thought it might've been liquidated furniture from the old Nick hotel for a bit before seeing newer IP on the walls, and eventually I found a shipping sticker on a box that said "SOMETHING-00-NICK-MOCKUP" and I understood what I was looking at! :nervous:
