While I agree that they should have planned in advance, they unfortunately were under a corporate leader that didn’t want to invest in parks… so it’s taken the teams a bit of time to start projects.

I’d imagine the remaining non-Pixar area of Paradise Bay will be gone in the next few years once they firm up final touches.

100% they’ll bring that Up waveswinger idea when they are ready.

Mermaid could be rethemed and Goofys sky school could go for dark rides. A lot of fans have been pining for Inside out to get more rep in the parks than just a spinner ride. This could be when to do it.

I personally think they should leave Mermaid and Goofy’s alone. Mermaid could be better but it fills that need of having a high-capacity omnimover. I don’t know if I want Goofy’s to be absorbed into Pixar Pier by having an ugly ahh building in the middle of a nice pathway. I want what’s left of Paradise Pier to stay. It’s nice!

The park is going to be landlocked once these expansions are done. I was really hoping they would invest in a coaster instead of Infinity Defense but that should be the next priority. A Cosmic Rewind style coaster is sorely needed at DCA of DL.

They should have torn out the horrible Goofy coaster and used that along with Paradise Gardens for Coco ride/land.

If WDW ran this park, this is totally what they would’ve done. There’s no reason to get rid of a ride when you can accommodate extra space for it. DCA needs all the coasters it can get at this point.

Goofy is low capacity that you can find at any fun land across America.....and it's a loud piece of crap for people staying on that side of the Grand Californian. Finally.....thank god that WDW doesn't run the Anaheim parks!

Yeah, DCA could use all the capacity it can get its hands on ... and it's not hard to imagine replacing Goofy's Sky School with something that does that job better.

Since Monsters Inc will be leaving, the park could use a C-ticket Fantasyland-style dark ride.

Agreed. Coco as (I hope!) a high capacity boat ride akin to Pirates already fills a huge void at the park.

DCA PEAKED 2012-2016. The downfall started with Guardians (Despite it being a good overlay) Change my mind.

Broke in our new annual pass this week with three half days at both parks. Not a lot update-wise that y'all won't already know, but it was fun going in summer for the first time since 2021. I hadn't seen Haunted Mansion in non-Nightmare Before Christmas garb since 2023, so that was also a treat. I also got to walk into the infamous Madame Leota shop and ... boys, it is not very good!

As always, lots of fun seasonal crap to eat or purchase. These days that's with a 70th anniversary bent, but anyone who's spent time at Disneyland knows there's pretty much always an "event" going on so they can continue to bleed passholders dry. I for one welcome our rodent overlords.

Best Thing I Ate

Corn dog served with a blueberry compote from the Red Wagon on Main Street. The presentation was nicer than this when I got it, but carrying a corn dog and an Abominable Snowman sipper in one hand and a three-month old in the other comes with some sacrifice. Speaking of which...

Thing That Closed That Made Me Sad

The "stops" for the Trolley are still up around the park, so you get to feel that sadness at multiple times during your trip. Neat!

Thing That's Closing That I'm Indifferent To

Monsters Inc. had a 45 minute wait when this photo was taken. No thank you!

Refurbishment In Progress

Lots of scaffolding work going on at the Matterhorn, I assume to repaint the waterfall area on the Main Street side of the mountain. This was the most noticeable construction when I was there, though I only walked through Avengers Campus briefly.
