App is showing that Mine Cart Madness, Mario Kart, Yoshi and Stardust are opening at 10am today, so EPA seems to be in play for them during previews.

Edit - app is also indicating that VL drop times for Ministry are 11am, 3pm and 6pm.

But what about EPA? Would they let anyone Uber to Helios and use their entrance or is a room key needed for EPA only?

This is what I wondered. If we Uber to Helios and get breakfast at Flora Taverna.. what happens then? I'd assume we still get EPA because we would be staying at Stella Nova.

If it’s only Nintendo that is open for EPA, wouldn’t you be at a disadvantage compared to the front gate?

Possibly! Unless we just wanted to use that time to explore Celestial and line up at Wizarding Paris (if the VQ goes away)

I know almost all the rides have single rider lines, have they been open at all during the previews? Obviously I know ministry’s will not be open.

Yes. Some were open one day but closed the next.

Interested to hear the Express Pass prices for today and if/when they sell out?

Just spoke to a friend who is involved with pyrotechnics for Universal— the only fireworks currently scheduled will be for the “Grand Opening”. The plan is to have fireworks on a regular basis, but permitting with the County is still hung up. Until that is taken care of, just “special events” like the opening and Fourth of July for now.

Although, I could see that becoming an issue with people Ubering to Helios and using the entrance.

How will it be an issue ??

If they are staffed properly I think it will be a smooth process.

I rode Monster's single rider on the media day. Walked right on. Only way I could have gotten on faster is if I had run.

Do the express and single riders lines skip the queue areas on all the rides that utilize them?

Express goes through the preshows, single rider skips straight to queue hall before load.

Been creeping the app. Wait time for Monsters Unchained seemed to drop like a rock. Got up to 90 minutes earlier but now it’s only 25 - think it initially dropped to 35 around noon. No downtime yet I’m aware of.

Also, Wing Gliders has had a pretty short wait all day. Highest I saw was 35 minutes, and it’s only 15 right now. Thought it would be higher.

Mario Kart and DK are high as expected, with DK getting up to 105 earlier (though MK was down for a while).

I had planned to hit Monsters first, but if it’s going to drop this drastically around lunchtime I’m wondering if it might be better to knock out a few quick things early on at 11am, eat lunch, then hop on Monsters when the wait is short.

Edit - Monsters now down to 15 minutes, the heck?

I think the biggest draw to rope dropping Monsters is trying to get a ride in while its operational (if it opens with the park). Putting something off that you're anticipating the most is a risky thing to do, especially under the circumstances. For me, I'd rather wait double the time, but actually ride, than run of risk of missing it entirely.

I'm a little skeptical on drawing much from today's wait times, especially if you are visiting a week out. I assume the capacity is starting low and gradually increasing every day or every other day? Also, probably a large percentage are using today as social media day and not concentrating so much on rides.

Unchained at full capacity has a crazy fast load. Both preview days I went, even with the long lines it was going fast, I don't expect it to ever get too long of a wait.

Could also be a case of everyone running to rope drop it, then going to explore the rest of the park, so Unchained starts steadily dropping.

I'm interested in when people start lining up for the Dark Universe portal, hopefully not right at the start of EPA. Would like either a Mine Cart or Stardust ride first.

The actual grand opening (22nd) or whatever closed ceremony they're doing on the 21st?
