I was over at epic yesterday and the park was packed. What % of the actual park capacity do you think the park was at yesterday? Just curious to get a gauge on what a full capacity day will feel like at epic when it opens to the public because it felt pretty packed yesterday

Well, it was the regular TM capacity plus invited press & guests.

And I gotta say - the park ran pretty well with the influx AFAIK.

It was running extremely well considering previews just started a month ago, I was very impressed. Was able to ride every ride (some multiple times) and still had time to try some restaurants and take in all of the worlds

The question is how current capacity will compare to 'after opening' capacity

I think they'll want to be as close to 100% capacity as possible, but we'll probably know closer to early May what is most likely for opening.

Getting closer to actual capacity then if you ask me. Raising it as we approach opening makes sense for preparing operations.

All I can say (well not really as you will see) is WOW. Epic has such an unique feel, vibe and energy that I haven't felt in a park in awhile.

1. The amount of landscaping surprised me. The flowers were beautiful. Especially those (not sure what they are called) that are like a tower/string of flowers stacked on top of each other. And there was one palm tree outside the entrance that had a whole other tree growing around it. Not sure how they did that.

2. The traffic might be a problem. Even for a sneak preview the traffic on Destination Pkwy was backed up all the way to JYP. And was moving very slowly. Except after a while it did pick up speed. So I am not sure if more gates opened up or the street lights became more favorable.

3. Initially my company was told NO PHOTOS. When I got there Saturday the TMs were practically begging people to take pictures.

4. SNW was the most crowded of the four lands and noisiest for some reason. If you have stress from crowds and noise like I do you might want to take this land slowly. It probably didn't help that I had just gotten off Bowser's Challenge. The audio and video overload was a lot especially towards the end of the ride when things are just going bonkers.

5. Ministry was completely closed to guests except for media. So I didn't even get a chance to see the queue.

6. I did ride Frankenstein twice though. Once going through normal queue and once as single rider. Single rider was basically a five minute walk on. You skip everything and get right up to the load area. I think one of the ride animatronics was broken on my second ride.
The Phantom of the Opera didn't turn around towards the vehicle like he did the first time

7. Berk was the most well themed of the four lands. Got to see the show which was entertaining. But I also think where you sit in the theater will have a major impact on your experience. I suggest the middle towards the back if you can.

8. There were a few street performers in the park. A couple of different troupes in Potter. One with a fantastic beast being used as an instrument being accompanied by other instruments. And some singers at another point. There was a violin player in Monsters and I did see the Invisible Man an Igor walking around. Didn't wait to see the windmill catch fire. Berk also had wandering characters.

9. My only regret was not wearing sun screen. I would have stayed longer except my shoulders were starting to burn. There isn't a lot of shade in some areas.

If you like that there's a similar one in IOA near the Discovery Center.

That was the day the media embargo was lifted and people were allowed to take pictures. Up until then it wasn't allowed to take any photos or videos.

I'm sure the TMs were super happy to tell people they could finally do it.

Epic is gonna be a HIT y'all. I'm seeing TikToks with millions, even tens of millions, of views and endless positivity and awe in the comments.. it's unlike anything I've seen for theme park content among "normies." The general public is really eating this up and they haven't even stepped inside! As long as the park can operate efficiently come opening season, this park is undoubtedly gonna be a grand slam right out the gate.

There’s a lot I could say but I feel like most of it has already been said over the weekend. The park is very well done.

The one thing I did want to mention though was how badly universal needs to update the app to allow guests to fully customize meals if they are going to force mobile ordering. Also, some things need better descriptors. For instance, my wife doesn’t eat pork for cultural reasons. She almost ate it bc the meatballs weren’t specified to have pork in them in mead hall.

I’ve been mostly avoiding spoilers, so I’ve been off of social media and the forums for the most part, but I just wanted to say it’s crazy how effective the influencer marketing is. I work in an office, and for the past year-ish I’ve brought up Epic in conversation, no one had heard of it at all. People were mostly just confused when I mentioned it haha. Now that all of those videos and TikTok’s are uploaded, I’ve had multiple coworkers come up to me today to talk about Epic Universe, how cool it looks, and how much they want to go check it out!! It’s just wild how quickly stuff spreads on social media lol

Just a little BTS to add on to your point.

This weekend was one of our biggest weekends EVER on socials and for traffic. People are interested and invested to learn more.

Yep I've noticed the same. Word is definitely starting to spread out to the general public now.

I have a feeling they might just drop this on us like they did for single day tickets. If they announce a date/time their servers might crash. I have a hunch we might see this happen soon.

They're going to drop this 25 minutes into my 16-hour flight. [men's warehouse voice] I guarantee it.

My biggest concern is going to be opening day vehicle traffic. The amount of roads and traffic lights you pass through just to get to the "gates" especially at the Epic Blvd intersection between Kirkman and the Roundabout to the east. At the northern parks you have two sets of gates they can open up (one for each garage). Epic only has the one.

And the funneling after getting through the gates seemed chaotic. Depending on which parking field they direct you to determines if you picked the right side upon entering the gates. When I got there they were directing everyone to the right and the northern parking area. But after a few seconds of merging they opened up the southern parking area again so everybody started merging left.

Edit: If you are not sure which parking area they are using (and you probably won't until you are told) Try to hit the middle booths. That way you aren't on the extreme sides and possibly having to merge all the way across.
