There's an essential problem with that plan, if that's indeed what's happening. Epic does great, so there's lots of money for expansion at the other parks. Or, Epic under delivers and there's no extra money for Studios/IOA new attractions......Well, in that second scenario, IOA & Studios would continue a downward trend since their weaknesses aren't addressed........A good business will be ready to address both IOA, and especially Studios, 'as soon as' the construction crews are done at Epic. Universal is already throwing money at Vegas and Texas in experimental ventures that may, or may not, turn out to be profitable. They're either all in for Orlando or not. With the money invested, there's really no choice but to go full steam ahead....right now.

USF needs a big attraction that’s stand alone based on an A-List attraction. USF is the “old” park and needs an identity. Even the Universal GMR that people want could help.

Yes, definitely needs addressed. Revenue down for 7 consecutive quarters at Universal Orlando is concerning. Epic might help cure some of that, but Studios needs lots of help, and an essentially empty IOA Lost Continent makes little business sense.

I wouldn't mind a more original/creative take for Lost Continent that only requires a new attraction and no significant redevelopment of the area.

I'd rather they tackle a complete overhaul of USF and adding a show to the TL theater.

That’s why I want Nolan’s next film to do massive business. It’s something Universal would own and could be timeless. But it feels like an IOA thing.

As far as USF. Go back to the 90’s and look at the front of a guide map or brochure. The IPs and iconic rides are insane. Like they need to lean into that instead of modern swap. Make a JAWS bar and restaurant in there somewhere. Hell even a return of supercharged with the tunnel playing with multiple IPs. Maybe the scene with the street racer has a DeLorean that gets struck by lightning and the clock tower. Christopher LLoyd loves playing Doc. Get him back for the pre-show. The party bus is a Time Machine that takes you through the history of Universal movies. I mean I feel like you’d be cheaper overlay that would be popular worth the fans and bring some identity back to the park.

Even if they start tearing IOA Lost Continent down today for a replacement, the new stuff probably won't open until 2028. Last new IOA attraction was the excellent Velocicoaster that opened in 2021. That would be at least 7 years gap on new attractions.

Who knows, maybe IOA uses PF old building for an Odyssey preview come 2026. Props and whatnot. At least in wouldn’t be sitting there idle.

I just really hope the PF/LC replacement is Zelda. I need my "boat not boat" ride

I was reading somewhere, I can't recall, that they're still internally running the PF water vortex once every few weeks .

Is that like how I still have to run my guest shower every couple weeks even if no one uses it?

I’d love if they brought PF back on some level.

It always reminded me of what I enjoyed the most about theme parks. Nice, entertaining, fairly long, multi experiences. Great ambiance.....and...the best AC on property.

I wonder how much running the vortex is to clear the pipes?

IOA can absorb that because of the one-two punch of Hagrid's and VelociCoaster.

USF needs the focus (though, ideally, Universal could be addressing both parks at the same time).

Hopefully Simpsons gets taken offline in 2026 with the contract up in 2028 so Pokemon can break ground ASAP. IF EU is sucking out all the oxygen room and USF is dead, that will be easy to do.

FWIW WDWMagic user Moth seems to think Pokemon will be ready by 2028 and that everything announced at D23 2024 for WDW was their response to Pokemon.

I love that theory, as I can see that. We have seen Universal build quickly and this year is still young. If Pokémon takes up land behind Simpsons, it will be a massive, massive land.

Pokémon I’d prefer go to IOA personally but I know it’ll end up at USF.

I agree studios isn’t the best fit, I wish Poseidon's and that side of LC was safe and Zelda took over Sinbad area if that’s still happening.

I think it’ll be both. I’m okay with Zelda because at least it’s a fantasy for fantasy swap.
