I have a list of actresses I think could work well in the role: Adria Arjona (especially after Blink Twice and Andor), May Calamawy (Scarlet Scarab from Moon Knight), Melissa Barrera I think has the courage, conviction, and looks to play a character like WW, or Monica Barbarro (newly Oscar nominated off A Complete Unknown).

May Calamawy is another great choice. Loved her in Moon Knight, by far the best thing about that series imo.

Adria Arjona has ties to James Gunn to bring up, as she was the main love interest for The Belko Experiment. Could make sense that Gunn might go for her based off of seeing her work from past instances of his writing.

Melissa Barrera feels like the "Star" pick, but I wonder if Gunn will keep to actors who are about to shine or at smaller stages to then shine.

Ana literally carrying the written back of the DCU hard as hell. Shows confidence Gunn and Safran have in her too; especially for Supergirl.

Makes it feel as if the universe will have a proper throughline, and hopefully it means she is writing Wonder Woman to be within that modern day timeframe of what the other DCU films seem to be doing.

Unfortunately, the sequel was a very dark spot that contributed to its downfall.

I kinda feel like we wont hit that level...but sadly because of the sequel film and Gal Gadot as an actress isn't making much money any more and also...kinda is a bad actress in some films. So here is hoping.

I think it's good to keep working with writers they trust, obviously Gunn and Saffron are feeling confident about Supergirl if they're handing over these other major titles to her care. I think the character suffers from dodgy continuity in the comics, the DCU has an opportunity to canonize a version of the character that amalgamates all the best/most interesting aspects for a wider audience. I'd also like to see Diana in maybe an animated series of her own.
