You think thats due to cost? Time? People not knowing about it? (I didn't know it was a thing, just thought it was a shop).

I for one had no idea that was a thing either. But I feel like even if people did know about it, they've already spent a good amount of money on an interactive wand, I can't imagine spending double on a custom-fitted robe as well.

Ok, what exactly is robe-sizing? Could someone describe it?

I think they call it a fitting. I don't think the robes are custom tailored, you just get a TM who gathers your complete outfit and helps you try it on. We did it for our two kids. The TM asked what house, then he collected a scarf and robe from off the rack and helped them put them on. He also brought them a few hats and let them pick one to try. They enjoyed it and the TM was great. Didn't buy anything though, just took some pictures while they were dressed.

^ Wow, that sounds like quite a bit of fun for a family. It would be great if they encouraged it, perhaps a step up measuring platform etc.

There actually is a kind of a raised stage type area in there...I was trying to figure out what it was for, but now I know that, it makes sense.

Anyone have any idea why the parks are relatively empty this weekend? Apparently Transformers is seeing 20 minute waits today, even Despicable Me is down to 30's/40's, and Gringotts is at 2 to 2.5 hours (still not running at full capacity). Also, theres no more land control, people can just walk into DA. For being a weekens in the middle of July, this seems strange, but considering Universal just opened their biggest expansion ever less than a week ago, it completely blows my mind. Anyone know why? My only guess is that people are scared of huge crowds and are just avoiding the parks...but that seems kinda unlikely considering it didnt stop anyone during Phase 1...

Hmm... Maybe some bad reports have had time to circulate? Or maybe it's a lack of crowds due to a storm of people being unable to plan vacations until a week after DA opened? It definitely seems odd - makes me wary of the visit I planned for the last Tuesday this month...

That doesn't make a lot of sense either - I'm sure people will come but many students in Florida and a few other states are back in school by then, so less family vacations are planned...

If its true that lack of heavy crowds is due to people being scared off, I could definitely see September and especially October weekends being very busy, because its kind of become an accepted fact that those are "dead times"...and everyone will want to take little trips that take advantage of that.

You know what I don't think anyone has mentioned - September 1st is kind of a big deal in Harry Potter, Hogwarts Express and all. So that may be a very busy day due to Potter fans now being able to ride the train...
And it'll be funny to see if a switch occurs and the off-season becomes unseasonably busy this year. If the crowds continue to be lower than expected, it wouldn't surprise me...

at this point i couldn't imagine how they would handle the crowds when they close the attraction 2 hours before park close because they have a 3 hours queue inside. i was in diagon alley at 8PM tonight and was among many of the people turned away. looked like a lot of upset people and the poor TM's were getting beat up by what i can only assume is a management decision, and unfortunately the ones who made this decision were not around to handle the fallout.

Ok, thank you, I understand the World Cup schedule :bonk:. Somehow, the last few weeks of games had no effect on attendance, so I dont buy that. I could maybe buy that the final game would have some sort of toll on crowds, but the more I think about it the more I think that the Harry Potter fandom and soccer fandom arent really that similar. Not to mention I find it hard to believe people would plan their travel plans from out of town around the games.

it's just that you said "So unless the World Cup is now a weekend thing" but, yeah, technically the world cup final was a weekend thing lol.

I don't know if people didn't go to the parks because of the games but I was just saying that technically they did have a game Saturday.
And it was Brazil, so the Brazilian tourists maybe wanted to see if Brazil won third place at least.

Honestly I believe the Harry Potter fandom has died down for the general public. Plus, a lot of vacations are submitted in early spring at most jobs so a lot may be skipping this year b/c of uncertainty when the new land was going to open.
