Thanks to everyone for all of the updates! It's really helping me stay sane until my visit this weekend.

If anyone has used the return ticket system, how useful have you found it to be? I'm just curious to see what feedback there is regarding how quickly they run out and how much they actually shorten the wait once you reach the return time.

Yesterday I got a return ticket right as they started using them. The nice thing was you put in the number of your party then it gave you a choice between 2 return times, the soonest possible or one a little later incase you wanted more time to do other things before going into Diagon. The return windows were an hour as well.

Yeah but it is very bad quality. Basically you can get an idea of that happens on the screens but that's it, a professionally recorded video wouldn't do the ride justice though. The guy recording it does kinda say whats happening motion-wise though.

Wow, that's odd. The owl is really out of reach of the guests, and inside a cage, so I wouldn't think guests would be able to damage it. Maybe it just had a malfunction today. Let's not lose hope yet, it's such a nice surprise for people waiting in the queue.

Yeah, I would have to assume it'll be back up and running very soon. I didn't see any soda stains on his feathers, so that's good. :-)

Curious; What time did you a) Get the return ticket. b) Return to the land. c) Actually get into the land?

I was there at opening and got in but wanted to go back later. So I got a return ticket after I left Diagon around noonish I would say. The times I was able to choose between was 3:10-4:10 or 5:10-6:10. I choose the second and when I returned at about 5:30 I got in a line of about 50 people with tickets and that took about 30 seconds. The return ticket entry was just a guy collecting them and verifying the time and number of people. They weren't holding people up to make sure people left before letting us in.

Is anyone aware of how products are moving from the shops? Are people buying with reckless abandoned?

I must say I haven't seen every person in every photo clutching a carrier bag like the first time, although I admit that isn't the most scientific way to judge. Really seems people just can't get enough of the food and drinks though.

I was in the space yesterday from 8a to ~1030a and while lots of people had wands and/or ice cream, I had zero problems/hindrances when walking through the shops. The interactive wands seemed to be a hit but otherwise I don't recall seeing a ton of bags or merchandise in the streets. That's not to say it didn't crazy in the space after lunch.

For the softs EVERYONE was eating and buying. We spent about $40 on food and drinks and ice cream and can't wait to go back and spend more because it was so good.

And now I need this too:

Gringotts queue is closed, but per @cryxwolf trains are despatching from both sides of the station. Perhaps experimenting while the queue can't build up any more?

Oh, and has anyone gotten a chance to figure out what the photography studio is about? Is it really a green screen video or are they just another section to get pictures from the park done? I'd assume it's a little more than that simply because it's inside Diagon Alley but I figured I'd ask if anyone knows more about it at this point.

I walked into that room and asked about it. It is right next to Weasley's Wizard Wheezes. You are placed in front of a green screen and you get six different videos with different backgrounds. I think they said it cost around $60-$70. I didn't do it, but I was told that I could try it out and view 2 videos for free.

I'm hoping to be able to do the same thing. From the sound of it the return tickets seem like a really viable way to avoid the hours of sun-baking that it could take to get in (for now, at least).

Yesterday we spoke with a sales associate, and a manager at one of the shops, and they said they were having trouble keeping sizes in stock for most pieces of apparel. My friend was looking for a large in a pair of Gryffindor sweatpants, and they were already sold out of XS-L.
Another person we ran into claimed to have spent upwards of $300 by noon. However, when I purchased a Dark Mark scarf in Borgin and Burkes, I had no trouble paying and speaking with the associates for about five minutes :P sooo....

I didn't plan on buying any Diagon merchandise, but I picked this up when I went Sunday. A limited edition pin for Weasley's Wizard Wheezes. Thought it was cool and I enjoy limited time stuff.
