As long as they still offer the inexpensive option in addition to this new one standby is still broken. Yea I wish WDW would move to a system more like UOR, but it doesn’t work if they still keep the old one too.

The cheapest price for the MK premier pass is the same price as a two park unlimited express pass on Christmas Day. I think that’s the biggest issue.

Hoping this starts as a phased transition into just the newer "all-included" pass, but we shall see. Way too often are standby lines backed up due to attraction downtime, and standby to ll ratios become painful.

Last night at Epcot before the post race party and just this morning at DHHS, magic bands and tickets are being scanned without fingerprint validation.

Is this when things are busy or are they potentially phasing them out? Could streamline entrance into the parks.

It is common procedure to skip fingerprint when line is backed up. For safety purposes they need to push people through faster and this is the way they do it usually.

Yeah that’s a speed thing. Or for some ticket types… just a thing.

Mobile Order is the one tech developed by Disney that actually works and is useful. Everything else is overbuilt or unnecessary to the theme park experience lol

their mobile order works so well i get frustrated by using other companies' mobile order. it's a remarkably useful tech, especially by disney standards.

Hoping Universal can improve their app (and overall F&B ops) soon. I shouldn't have to manually add my AP each time I mobile order.

Just got back from Marathon Weekend, and randomly saw this getting breakfast at the hotel. Worked really well, was super useful!

Unfortunately, earlier in the trip I had the opposite experience at UOR. Placed an order at 11 at Minion Cafe, only to find out an hour later mobile order didn't work on their end and one single team member was taking orders manually going table to table (instead of in the order folks arrived). When a table of 8 got their meals before I got my soda cup, I knew something was wrong.

Anyway, I hate Uni mobile order.

Amen.

While I understand bugs happen, it's pretty much been a recurring theme since it debuted. I'm really hoping there's a fix to the app (and their entire F&B operations) before Epic's debut.

Hope that this doesn't break linking rules. I am not sure how I feel about the comments. Well, I am sure how I feel but wanted to open this to general discussion.

Lets tackle them.

“If you just go back five or 10 years and you think about what’s happened at Walt Disney World, we’ve always been on the offensive. You’ll never find us in a defensive position.”

It's pretty well debunked. Disney "woke up" and also changed plans with SW after Diagon Alley, so yes, I'd say they've been on the defense quite a bit. I think it makes them uncomfortable to admit it.

“We’re constantly investing for the long term, fortifying each one of our theme parks to make sure that our destination stays together as a whole. And that’s worked incredibly well for us.”

Yeah, they've been investing, but the overall complaint is more about the gaps from the 2005-2014 timeframe when you all were investing in MDX and MagicBands. They're still paying for those mistakes.

“If something is built new in Central Florida, like EPIC Universe, and if it brings in additional tourists, I can almost guarantee you that that new tourist coming into the market is going to have to visit the Magic Kingdom. They’re not going to miss Star Wars at Hollywood Studios. They’re absolutely getting on Guardians of the Galaxy in EPCOT.”

They will absolutely miss those things Josh! SWGE is six years old! What do you have for fans of Nintendo? This to me feels like cope.

“You saw the results. They were phenomenal for Q2. And Hugh [Johnston] talked about the forward bookings in Q3 and Q4 being very strong. So our strategy is working.”

1) THEY EMPLOY A MAN NAMED HUGH JOHNSTON OMG 2) Yup, Disney's strength has always been DVC and the momentum behind the young family taking a family trip. I totally expect Disney's bookings to be strong, especially after the large discounts this summer.

“We have a very solid strategy in place, always on the offensive. And as you see our investment plan in the future, you’ll notice that that’ll continue.”

I agree, they have an aggressive roadmap to 2030. Which kinda goes against his whole "we're some chill guys" comments before.

Also, gotta say, there are LOTS of Disney employees who want Epic to kick Disney to do more, even beyond what they're doing now. That's the real risk with Epic, Disney losing the momentum and cachet.

I can't adequately verbalize how much I dislike the compulsion to turn this situation into some kind of contest between Disney and Universal.

(That's directed more at whoever asked D'Amaro that question.)

I think it's inarguable that Disney has massively invested in major attractions that have opened every year since 2017. I would also contend that investment is kind of just getting them back to the baseline where they should have been in 2017 had they not (mostly) ignored attraction investment in Orlando for the decade prior in favor of tech nonsense. And so, as such, a whole lot more is still needed at WDW*.

*I think Universal still needs a whole lot more attention, too, but that's another conversation.

Good compilation. True with no Disney corporate propaganda.
