W Hotel and Music Venue (Next to Epic Universe)

I didn't find an existing topic for it (although I know it's been mentioned before), but the W Hotel at the corner of Universal Blvd and Destination Pkwy finally got its permits for the foundation to start construction:



I was half expecting Universal to acquire this property since there was such a delay between the announce and the commencement of construction, but I guess the 22 story building and music venue is really happening. Surprised Universal didn't do a full PR assault on it like the Poler Coaster since it's so tall and so close to Epic and a future park...

Putting a hotel adjacent to Epic Universe (and a future gate) with "theme park view rooms" is such a huge opportunity to skip on. Considering the amount of time between its initial announcement to starting construction, I would have assumed that UOR was in talks to potentially purchase the land (or swap).


With that said, with this hotel popping up now... any idea what the long-term plan is for Destination Pkwy? Traffic heading for Epic to I4 via Destination Pkwy gets backed up. The traffic circle in the sky doesn't really have any impact until they can connect Kirkman all the way to Destination/I4
