I can easily see this being a quick addition in 2026 or an "in-between year".

I wonder if they could look at the idea of the rotating water slide as a means of having another major large raft water slide, if to have it be as a hook visually for the back half of the park and for I5 itself.

It's a lot of land to utilize.

Above is just a rough idea of what could fit here (and that's without trying to fit a bunch of things into one area like the Volcano structure. Enough space for a dueling water coaster and additional tube slides. Would really love to see some additional rock features or theming on this side to compliment the Volcano.

The one thing I still want to see from this expansion outside of new rides is something that merits the 'water theme park' designation they gave Volcano Bay during the initial marketing blitz.

I wholeheartedly agree. While I think some people make a bigger deal out of the designation since it’s just a name, I believe that if you’re going to use that tagline, you should aim for pulling off something that blends water slide/dark ride. It doesn’t need to be an E-Ticket attraction, but it should be something unique to water parks.

I'd be happy with a water ride involving literally 1 show scene/animatronic.

My idea has always been to theme the expansion plot to Madagascar. It's the one IP that doesn't warrant its own land but would fit within the context of Volcano Bay's tropical theme.

I was going to say I've always liked that Volcano Bay doesn't feature IP, but then I remembered they did King Julian meet and greets there

I don't know why, but I've always wanted to see a full service restaurant in Volcano Bay. I know it doesn't make much logical sense in a water park..

But still lol

My dream expansion would be a new lazy river.

Mostly indoors. It would be like a lazy river through a Moana-ish dark ride done in the style of It's A Small World.
The first scene would just be a Polynesian village on both side. The 2nd scene would be the villagers roasting a pig on the beach. The 3rd scene would be them cooking stuff. The 4th and finale would be a Luau with guys twirling flaming batons and hula girls dancing on each side with a band behind them.

Quite honestly, a lazy river with show scenes is so unbelievably smart it's insane it hasn't happened

Regarding IP, I could see some sort of small Minion/DreamWorks integration if they really wanted to for a 2nd splash pad/kids area.

I think a rooftop restaurant at the top of one of the Cabana Bay towers would have worked well since it would allow them to still operate it when VB is under refurb.

I love the idea of a mostly indoor lazy river. Perfect when you've had too much sun, or maybe during some light rain. I think the park needs another high capacity activity that you can use while you wait for some of the slides.

The park is built and there's really no space for anything like this here anymore, but in my mind, a water theme park should just be a largely traditional theme park where you can get on a water ride and not have to worry about getting soaked. Does that make sense?

Everytime I'm in IoA, or DAK, or SWO, and walk past any of their flume or raft attractions, I will hard pass most of the time. Because I'm in shorts and I'm wearing socks, and I've got the whole day ahead of me, and I really don't want to get soaked on Popeye's right before waiting in that indoor Kong queue haha! In a water theme park, I should walk into whatever Dudley-style ride they've got willingly, because I'm already prepped with swim trunks, sandals, sunscreen, and because getting soaked is the whole point! Slides and things like that would be fun supplementary attractions, but I want actual full-potential water rides that I don't have to stress about ruining my day!

It's all semantics at the end of the day, but as wonderful as Volcano Bay is, it's really just an improved version of something like Blizzard Beach. Not a "water theme park", but a "themed water park".

Agreed^ I've often thought it makes more sense to have flume and rapids rides as part of the "water park", but I guess the distinction is that rides require an "operator" while water park attractions require lifeguards. It makes it more difficult if you have to staff two different kinds of people to work the attractions.

Definitely would be a logistical puzzle, but I think it's a solvable one, especially with a resort on the scale of USF. I'd love to see the industry pushed forward in that way. A merging of these two styles of park that has really not ever been seen before. That'd be really innovative.
