Man, I don’t care about the ride system as long as the story is good and the execution is great.

I'm mostly in the same boat, though I will admit I'd prefer a ride system we haven't really seen often or ever at WDW. Good example would be the TDS Peter Pan/DCA Avengers ride system, and WDW definitely isn't getting that Avengers ride, so might as well use that system for something else.

I think this is the only way we actually get to see villains that aren’t named Maleficent, the Evil Queen, Ursula, Captain Hook, Hades, Jafar, or Scar. I still expect the main attraction to heavily feature and emphasize these characters, but with 3D screens, we can work in a hell of a lot more in the background or in additional, momentary appearances (cheaper to animate a CGI character than build a bespoke animatronic).

This whole project will be a dud for me if there isn't a gigantic Chernabog animatronic somewhere.

The DHS show featured a ton more villains than I ever thought they'd acknowledge, and even the few bits of concept art for this ride we have already seen have had a few pleasant surprises like Yzma, so here's hoping they go crazy with the representation.

I know they're inconsistent on including him with other "Disney Villains", but my biggest hope for this project is for Oogie Boogie to get some love.

Yes, the new DHS show sure throws an army of Disney Villains in the pot. That show was way better than I expected, and
even better with repeat viewings. The new Villains land has so much potential. It could end up as WDW's best, or at least
in the discussion.....Potential, potential, potential.

I’ve gotta imagine they’ll have a dedicated meet and greet spot with a rotating cast of villains. That alone would be one of the most popular attractions in the resort.

Yeah, I think Cars has the E-Ticket car ride and a flat ride, and Villains has a coaster & dark ride (TDS Pan/Avengers ride system?).

TDS Peter Pan system I think is the E ticket for sure.

This is exactly what I'm getting at. Imagine, if you will, a "chase" moment where the guests/vehicle is "escaping" from some kind of trap the villains have set, or are running away after being discovered (think Spider-Man). With a primarily animatronics-driven attraction, we'd be lucky to get Scar and Malefcient, or something. With 3D screens, we could get quick glimpses of Scar, Shere Khan, Yzma, and Frollo calling us out and/or giving chase. A finale could include an entire audience of villain extras.

It's a home run idea...so it won't happen. Enjoy your impossible to get reservation for a Villains Character Dinner.

Or it’ll happen and they’ll paywall the most interesting or obscure meet and greets behind a Villains Night after hours event.

This is a very good point, personally for me I would like to see a darn good chunk of Villain's in the main dark ride. If you're making a land devoted to them, it would feel like a waste not to use them like that, yanno'?

Plus, I'm genuinely intrigued to see how Disney utilizes that ride system. I've heard good things about the TDS Peter Pan, and I'm excited to see what they do with the Avengers ride at DCA. It is a ride system you can play with in various ways, not to mention it's one that can pack a consistent thrilling punch...something which I can't say for a trackless dark ride in that regard.

Sort of similar, but for the big dark ride, I would pick Hades as our connective tissue.

I mean, most of the villains are dead, so why not just have him as the focus of the ride? We enter a temple to the god Hades, get told we're all dead, board 'boats' to cross the river styx, find out that he has united the villains in an effort to defeat their various heroes (a plot line used in the Young Hercules tv series where Hades and Jafar teamed up against Aladdin and Hercules) so that he can rule the world, the villains don't like being under Hade's thumb so they all join forces to rise up against them, during their fight, we inadvertently bump most of them into the river styx, Hades thanks us for our help and lets us go free while saying, "Hey, thanks and all that, but don't think this is it for us. Sure, I'm letting you go now for what you did for me, but eventually you'll be back."
Sorry to quote myself, but really, Hades still seems like the best bet for our host to me.

Use the Tokyo Disneysea Peter Pan ride system (conveniently already boat themed), integrate a few animatronics, and throw as many villains at us as you can. Look at all the dead villain options: Evil Queen, Maleficent, The Horned King, Ratigan, Sykes and his dogs, Ursula, McLeach, Gaston, Jafar, Oogie Boogie, Scar, Claude Frollo, Shan Yu, Clayton, Tiberius, Dr. Facilier, Mother Goethel, and King Candy are all relatively confirmed kills. I am sure I am missing some as I haven’t seen every animated film and I did purposefully leave Pixar off the list.

You could make cases for some other ones popping up like Hook or the Chernabog as well.

Also, add Pain and Panic into the mix because it’s fun. Furthermore, you could have Hades trying to take over that Fantasyland area next door because it’s far too cheery or wanting to extend his dominion into this Magic Kingdom he keeps hearing all us new visitors talking about. He’s kind of the perfect character to break that fourth theme park wall.

This general outline keeps heroes out of the mix as well, which I view as being important to any villains land.

Yeah, to be clear here, I think the ideal scenario is you still have a dozen high-quality animatronics of the heavy hitters. The screens let you radically expand the cast.

As it was said earlier, I really hope they do a dedicated villains meet and greet like the princess hall or whatever it is called. As far as a flat ride, meh, I dunno. What type of flat did you all have in mind?

A spinner or carousel where all the vehicles are different animal henchmen would be very funny.
