I bet you would remember if it was called Illumination’s Villain-Con HOLLYWOOD Minion Blast!

With children, but not really elsewhere. It's one of the few things in UO without a height requirement.

It's valuable on some level for this reason alone, and I'd argue all of Universal's parks would benefit from more "B" ticket attractions like this. The issue here (beyond the much-discussed gameplay and graphics performance problems), in my opinion, is that this attraction takes up far more space than it's worth. It's also arguably in too prominent a position for what it is, leading to misplaced expectations and subsequent disappointment.

If it was a tucked away "third" attraction in Minion Land? I bet the reception would be very different, but it's positioned like a minor headliner on the level of Minion Mayhem.

I enjoyed it. It was something different, fresh and I really enjoyed the kinetic energy of the entire space. Really felt like a convention floor! Vastly improved upon what shrek was. . .

Yeah, I think if something like this existed tucked into the back of DreamWorks Land it'd be better received.

I will say though- it never has a line, making it perfect for a reprieve from rain lol

I'd take this ride over the Despicable Me Screen ride we have now in Hollywood

Rarely does it have a line (doesn't mean it's bad/unpopular) but for such a prominent IP it missed the mark IMO.

If it had more physical effects (animatronics/fog/etc.) and made any sort of sense, it'd be fine. I also really hate the exterior queue, not that it gets much use.

I mean isn't it also somewhat of a people eater?

I'm not saying it looks amazing but over a movie or old simulator ride like Simpsons or DM: Minion Mayhem

I'd rather have this

Alene and I are in the minority, we actually like Villain con, but we liked Shrek more. We've
been on this a couple dozen times. Only once, or twice, was it not a walk on.
The attraction is a bit of fun, so that's what counts for us. It's certainly not Supercharged level bad.

Man I strongly disagree with this. It’s nowhere near as good as those two rides.

To each how own but I'm not a fan of simulator rides, especially when they have pre shows that slow lines down.

The thing I've noticed about Universal newer rides is they FORCE rides to never be walk on, at Disneyland you can walk on most attractions

But besides that for Simpsons, it has 2 pre shows (both are tv screens) and the ride is just not fun to ride for me. The Script is good but the ride is just not much fun to ride on, just too rough

If DE: Minions Mayhem left the park and it was replaced by this I'd be one that WAYYYYYYYY more and assume when it gets busy at USH it would get similar lines

I also want to note, I'm not saying this attraction should be just cloned. I agree it needs more physical sets and things and also more events of updates for sure are also welcome

Villain-Con is not a fun ride and it's not a good game. Truly the worst of both worlds. Simpsons has a great script but, yes, the ride system is well past its prime. I think Minion Mayhem is very sweet, but the ride system is just okay (in Hollywood — in Orlando it is diabolical).

I'll never understand the aversion to pre-shows. They're part of the ride. I'll never understand the mindset of "ugh, can we just hurry up and get to the part where I'm sitting down." It's like begging to skip the foyer and elevator at Haunted Mansion. If you're not also here for that, what are you here for?

But as I've said before, not every ride is meant to be experienced 100 times a year.

HM script is amazing, it feels real and is all physical sets and real effects.

The Mario Kart, DE and Simpsons pre shows are just TV screens. Like its just there to not get me on the ride part quicker

But especially MK and Simpsons second part of the pre show...are literally just TV screens something found in everyones home

Also just an FYI, I don't see these three pre shows much. I go on Simpsons...maybe once a year now. DE a few times a year when its short but not more then 5 times a year. Also for MK, I use single rider most times I go in and my god that's so nice the two pre show rooms have just....such boring pre shows. No Humor, or clever writing easily the worst part of the attraction

The pre-shows in Simpsons are not that ride's problem imo. I'm not a simulator hater (as much as some are at least) but it's ROUGH.
