That, and some structural issues in the building that need repair. These old buildings, they can be fickle.

Do you happen to know what type of structure issues they need to address in that building? I also heard that there was also some mold growing in there as well due to rain seeping through the walls. This was discovered when they took down those billboards on the front of the building.

Not as fun as a SLOP would have been!

SLoP has over 60 animatronics, this is not looking like it's gonna have any, or at least have very few. Big difference I think.

Florida is a brutal climate and this building is over 30 years old using building techniques from the 80s. I'd be more surprised if there wasn't any issues

I'm kind of surprised that Universal didn't just tear the building down and make something a bit more purpose built for it, similar to Transformers.

It’s a Universal ride, so of course we’ll get wet on the attraction, but this is a step too far....

Cost and time. I think they want to get this done quicker, and, based on the ride descriptions, this doesn't feel like a long term plan. Something cheap to fill a gap and maybe pull some crowd from the minion ride. Building a whole new building would add months at minimum to the timeline. Plus whatever a new building costs these days.

You are essentially wanting Universal to bring Sleep no More to the parks (already did it in USJ with an 18+ age limit but tickets were add on to the parks) but yea not a SW hotel killer r there and not a good use for the space. minions is perfects.
