We were never getting any original lands anyways. Don’t know why everyone expected/wants one.

Oof, sorry. Thought it was going to turn into another post complaining about a lack of a cohesive theme or original lands.

Honestly, the only reason IOA was built with original lands is because it had second-parkitis

Universal and Comcast are media companies, they will showcase popular IPs and media that they own/do deals with

For those of you wanting an original land, you’ll have the hub area. I wouldn’t be surprised to see a ride or two in the hub, maybe even the a world-class, best-in-the-park ride.

For the rest of us, you’ll have Nintendo for the gamers and nerds, Jurassic World for the pre-teens and teenagers, DreamWorks for the families, and Classic Monsters/Fantastic Beasts/WaterWorld/whatever for everyone else.

I never understood the complaint about original vs IP...It's technically all "original" bringing things that were seen in a film/movie/book etc to real life

I would even argue that classic monsters is pretty much an original land anyway if it happened

What is the likelihood that the majority of the attractions at the fourth gate park will mostly have 3D glasses types, projected screens, and VR based rides? I thought Universal would tone down on this for the new park. Just your thoughts? I hope we will see more real life attractions with Physical Sets, and practical effects. Like Kongfrontation old but still could look great with newer technology without what I said above.

Low. I doubt there will be any VR rides. 3D and screens will be present, but closer to the balance in IoA than USF

Screens are inevitable, as it is in modern-day theme park design. I would say you shouldn't expect if any VR presence (and I mean VR). They will balance the hell out of it though, and that I do think we should wonder about digital-mapping more (like Alice from DL or the Nighttime shows from WDW and USF).

I just hope Universal fans have noticed that the use of screens, 3d glasses, are be coming a bit too much and fear that it will be in every attraction come the third or fourth gate. I am wondering we will see less of it in a new park not more but still have a presence. I just think Uni can still be successfull without screens & glasses.

Universal guests realize it, Universal creative realize it and are curbing it. They are moving away from screens for the new rides in the current parks which should mean few in new park. Will they have screens? Yeah, but it won’t be USF version 2.

I think the backlash from some of the recent screen rides will have a positive ripple effect in the new park

Plus, just look at the HP coaster for an idea of Universal's current design thinking

And Super Nintendo World. Jurassic World in Beijing. SLoP in Hollywood (I think). Probably MoM.

Point is, I think the screens era is past us. F&F was the last nail in the coffin.

I doubt it would happen but talking to some people about IPs Universal could use for the park someone mentioned the Good Place as an IP to tie the worlds together essentially a park hub.
