If the new park doesn’t have ~20 rides at opening, I’ll admit I’ll be disappointed. I was hoping for a big ride menu like MK

Most parks nowadays don’t open with those numbers. Every Disney Park after DL and MK opened with smaller ride counts yet some are still very popular like Tokyo. Let’s look to Beijing to gage where this park might go for opening day.

USB is also 300 acres which people said this park wouldn't be that size.

I’m thinking (hoping) that they up the ride count to 16-17. Any more than that and the quality will start to decline.

USB is not 300 acres. Maybe the resort is, but not the park itself. I’d put it at the 125-150 acre range.

The resort is 1000 acres, USB is the largest Universal Park at 300 acres. The second park is 150 acres and the water park is estimated 50 acres.

I got a question: how?!? It looks a little less than twice the size of IOA, possibly even less.

I’m talking about the number of rides and attractions on opening day. Fantasic Worlds might open with the same number or maybe not who knows really.

Definitely opening with the same amount of rides (excluding the flats). Attractions.... we’ll see. I’m not sure how many USB has.

We agree on this one, Skip!

The thing about the ride count at a park like USF is that they're almost all headliners or (wannabe headliners). There aren't a lot of smaller experiences. I'd like to see the next park have a similar amount of headliners as USF, but several additional, lower-key rides; not "kiddie" rides, necessarily, but stuff like Peoplemover at Magic Kingdom or the Seuss Trolley at IOA -- somewhat more laid back rides that flesh out the day.

Either that, or give us a really diverse offering of shows. Again, see Magic Kingdom, which has one 3D show and several animatronics stage presentations; give us a couple of each, plus a WaterWorld-style stunt spectacular.

Well, USH does greet and has about 5 rides so anything more would be a lot for a third park. Maybe it has even more rides than AK.

Universal Park Map daily brochure...and they number them...IOA 31 attractions ....USF 32 attractions....They count Parades, some Meet & Greets and some Street shows (as an example they count Blues Brothers, Sing It, & Marilyn as 1 (one) attraction instead of 3 attractions, and they don't count The Beat Builders show as an attraction, and they count Hollywood Character Zone and Studio Brass Band as 1 (one) attraction instead of 2 . ....So there's a lot of flexibility of what they count and how they do it. I wouldn't think it makes sense to get too tied up on a numerical figure since Universal seems fairly flexible in how, and what they use as counting attractions.

Nintendo by itself will have three that we "know" of: Mario Kart, Yoshi, and DK. They're almost halfway to DAK's total right there.

I think they'll have more rides than DAK.

I am looking forward to the Life of Jane Eyre using the Skull Island ride system. That should make for a few woosy tummies. :)

By that number logic Nintendo would have like 8 “attractions” just based on the KidZone plans that almost were.

Quality over quantity is most important to me but a good ride count is nice. Being flexible is nice and attractions are crucial to the whole experience for a theme park.

And I am wondering if Disney is going to build a Shame ride with a AA Michael Fassbende when they have Fox but I don't think they will. I think not but a great movie nonetheless.

We’re going to have to wait for Disney to build Westworld before we’re getting full-frontal robotic nudity

Just doing some quick estimated math with the attraction numbers: We potentially currently have 10 attractions, which are...
  1. Mario Kart
  2. Yoshi
  3. Unknown DK ride
  4. Unknown fourth ride
  5. Mushroom Kingdom play areas
  6. Donkey Kong play area
  7. Bowser Jr interactive attraction
  8. Gyrosphere dark ride
  9. Jurassic World coaster
  10. Jurassic World show
That’s also eight IP’s...
  1. SoMario
  2. Mario Kart
  3. Donkey Kong
  4. Yoshi’s Island
  5. Pikmin
  6. Splatoon/Luigi’s Mansion/other IP
  7. Jurassic World
  8. Jurassic Park (by association with JW)
So we still have a lot left to learn.
