Big missed opportunity not theming it to Waterworld, Titanic, or Life of Pi if you ask me....

Waterworld is too old and Titanic is too morbid. Never seen Life of Pi so I have no comment.

I like the volcano idea and it should be a great spectacle driving down the I4 but I think it's a bit too similar to Typhoon Lagoon.

If they can get a realistic lava effect, it will look incredible and if it's over 200ft, no red light needed.

I don't think Waterworld was a completely crazy idea.

I've never seen the show live but it looks great. Meant to be going to Thailand and Signapore next year so I'll try and see it there. It would be a nice replacement for Sinbad or Fear Factor room permitting.

I don't think it is either but I think basing an entire park (water or not) on a single I.P. is a risky move.

:ack:

If it's successful enough an AA show next to SLOP could fit in well.

They could replace the toon laggon cafe with a chuckechees like place with an arcade and AA show and food. Then that would open up the arcade area of marvel to be used in the future in a possible expansion there.

I doubt it bombs, it's the biggest alternative to Rogue One for kids. It won't do gangbusters though.

How do you think they deal with the LOTR issue? Obviously, if it ever comes available, they jump on it. But who knows when or if it will ever be available? So how do they proceed with the new park considering that? Do they ignore the issue completely? Do they put in generic area that can be easily rethemed? Or do they just leave an easily accessible area open for future expansion? And if they do that, how long do they leave it open before just giving up on LOTR? I'm sure they have an idea what they would do with all scenarios, but it would be interesting to see how they plan to deal with it.

If fate serves me wrong; in my head, I believe TPI had said that WB now has the chance to potentially go to court with the Tolkien Estate, for theme park rights to be allowed for a company like WB, or potentially a third party.

I believe it was around November, but I can be severely wrong with it.

That said..if WB allows Comcast/NBCUniversal to use the IP, I have to imagine that it'd not be far out of the probabilities that they'd use the world of Middle Earth for the third gate..how they'd do it, is another question.

Personally, I actually think that Bree would be a good place to house a LOTR area, and use the Shire in a major dark ride, not the area. They could, and I am saying could; just base the area off of Hobbit and actually use LakeTown (yes, that's what its called) and have a indoor/outdoor coaster themed to the third act of Desolation of Smaug as you go into the mines. Either those two, or go really ambitious and do Rivendell; which..it could be done; it'd be hard, but it can be done.

That said, if the potential court case goes through, as WB could get it, i'd expect UC to have the ability of using Middle earth for the parks.

EDIT: Heres the TPI Article from October..
Court Ruling Clears Way for Next Battle Over 'Lord of the Rings' Theme Park Rights

Just saying.... wouldn't ANOTHER mine train through some deep caverns full of treasure featuring a dragon be a bit redundant?

I'd rather see something sort of like FJ, except you're flying on "eagles" through different parts of Middle Earth. That, and a dark ride where you ride on Gandalf's carriage through multiple parts of Middle Earth, full of AAs of dwarves, elves, etc.

They might as well just get Game of Thrones instead of LOTR. Just as big with much easier chance of getting the rights to. Also keeps with the dragon theme even better than LOTR.

At the rate their going the ride would need to be changed each season to reflect the death of major characters.

That's actually a good idea! Wouldn't mind seeing a Musion show where guests could interact..

I think LOTR is either 3rd park or never going to happen..

Easy. They will build The Shire where Toon Lagoon now is and just make people walk to Mordor as a 3rd gate on the newly purchased land...
