IOA doesn't have nearly the amount of things to do for the entire family... THAT is why it did bad in comparison.

Nearly everything has a height requirement.

And there is absolutely nothing wrong with that in my opinion. Disney has 4 parks for you.

Just imagine IOA if they didn't have Seuss. I'd be in heaven. (Note: I thoroughly enjoy Cat in the Hat. I just think it does both spectrums a disservice. Especially the fact it tricks families that there is something worth the money there for them: there isn't.)

So basically, you just don't want any kids in the park.

There's only one group I dislike more than children: parents.

That's actually not fair. My disdain for parents is much much higher.

To quote a post I quite like from a rival site

personal feelings on attentive parenting out of this, i come to disney world. i know they'll be kids there, large families, tour groups. whatever. i'm not adverse to any of that. but why do certain people think that just because WDW appeals to families with kids means that i should either take my money elsewhere or deal with their way of life taking priority over mine? i don't ask anyone's kids to drink a beer and read a book with me. why should you ask me to be privy to and tolerate their all-encompassing entertainment?

Debatably racist (it is), but I prefer this version:

That clarification helps. So you're thinking along the themes of teens/adult oriented attractions.?

I just think that the current trend in making things more "family" or "kid" friendly is doing everyone a disservice because it's essentially dumbing down everything.

I don't want things to be unnecessarily explicit or in your face. I want them to be what they are - without fear of retribution or reworking because bad parenting.

An (bad) example I would say is Pitch Perfect. NEEDS and should've been in the parks light years ago. But I think you'd run into BIG subject matter complaints (from? Ding ding. Families ----> looking at you, Mom.)

And I honestly think universal is amazingly successful at this (look at Forbidden Journey). But, I would LOVE an Escape from Gringotts that did not have to worry about being more "kid" friendly.

I know A LOT of kids LOVE HP (I started reading them in elementary school so I understand) but I'm in the minority when I say/think that HP is still pretty "Adult."

And I KNOW folks complaining is unavoidable. But, my Blue Sky is to make nothing they want to see inside the parks. :-)

I'm of a certain age when I'm starting to think about kids soon but I can't disagree with you. Most parents are ok but some are truly awful giving their kids free reign because they're on holiday. The worst thing I seen was last year in Disneyland and where two kids were running about the queue and spitting on each other. Being British, I couldn't say anything naturally nature but I have to love America because somebody spoke out pretty quickly.

If I were witness to this I would be happy someone else said something because I would be too busy watching your reaction.

I spent 3 years in London at UCL and my goodness I love watching the English react to this situation because it is hysterical.

You know what the worst of it is. I've got a really thick Scottish accent and everything I say sounds quite aggressive. So even if I wanted to say something and tried to be polite as possible, it would sound horrible.

Nobody understands me in Orlando. I had a good talk with a guy outside Tower of Terror one day and he said he only understands me because he was a massive Craig Ferguson fan. And btw you Americans butcher the name Craig.

I didn't have a problem w the Scotts during my time in Central London. My drunken Irish friends, on the other hand.....

Yeah, Americans make it sound very wimpy when it truly sounds much more regal/majestic

You act like I'm some parent of 4 looking for lots of stuff to do with kids. I'm a broke college student. Yet I find IOA to be one of the most boring parks in Orlando (and only because DHS and Epcot suck).

You have a very narrow view. Sure YOU may hate parents and kids, but guess what? The parks would not be expanding at the rate they are without them. You can't eliminate your main demographic.

And it's boring because of height restrictions (or lack thereof)? Please see above .gif

You being broke is not my problem. I was not in College.

The parks are expanding because of Potter and a LOT of the Potter dollar isn't little kids.

I'm sorry but they're adding KONG, Fallon and FAST AND FURIOUS - nothing that screams parents and kids.

And Nintendo. You're really starting to remind me of a certain quote;

Not announced officially so I didn't list.

But I will also argue that Nintendo isn't a "kid" move. Family? Yes. Maybe. Kinda with Mario Kart.

I think Nintendo is gonna get a WHOLE LOTTA 18-40 demo, regardless of children.

My entire New Years group (15+, ranging from 25-50, none with children) all SHRIEKED WITH JOY at the thought of Nintendo, especially next to Simpsons and Potter.

I didn't say any of that was... But you don't create an entire park around full on "Adult" things.

I'd also argue many parents LOVE Fallon, Kong and many really enjoy F&F.

You are far over-generalizing an entire group of people just because of what YOU perceive to be Adult themes. You think the merch for all these rides won't try to reach to kids and you're kidding yourself.

Parents are adults, therefore, enjoy the same things as adults. I wouldn't separate the two.

If you're a parent I would hope that you were an adult as well. I didn't think I needed to be redundant but clearly I need to be.

I stand corrected.

I should've said Until I see demolition or a ride announcement. I mean, Nintendo is far out in my eyes....
