I'm not convinced there will be any resorts on the big plot of land, personally. If there is, I think it will be built into the park someway.

Built in someway as in something like the Uni Beijing entrance hotel?

The intersection behind the park was labeled Resort Road in a presentation, though that could be a generic placeholder meaning a road belonging to the resort. Other presentations have shown the fancy walkways leading back there too.

Edit: just a thought that the towers next to VB could be foreshadowing a hotel in the next park...

The only displayed path is on the road below the plot of land, no?

I don't put much in the "Resort Road" label, as "Resort" has so many uses in Orlando. But who knows. It just seems a little awkward to put a single resort between the new park and all that backstage stuff when the rest seem like they'll be south of it.

Honestly, it would make sense to integrate a hotel with the new park. If marketed right, it could be a major power-move for the orlando landscape, especially considering that California, Asia, and France all have theme park's with resorts connected to them.

..that said, if it's DreamWorks, I only hope it'd be like what OLC is concocting for the Fantasy hotel that's being built for TDS.

Going back to a picture that I've posted before:
2kSihP6l.png

The area inside the red outline is about 155 acres. The ponds are a bit more than 20 acres combined, so the park theoretically could be as large as slightly over 130 acres. There will also likely be a hotel that takes up some of this, meaning that the final size will probably be less than 120 acres.

Given the wording about being able to add "any world", I wouldn't be surprised if much of the northeast section (what I've labeled with a green 6) is reserved for future expansions, leading to an opening day park size of only 70-80 acres. Leaving wide open expansion space for additional worlds also probably means that there won't be many smaller attraction-sized expansion plots within the phase 1 worlds, which makes smaller lands and a smaller initial total park area more reasonable. However, the likely ~80 acres it opens with is nowhere near enough to be considered one of the largest they've ever built in terms of land area, so I'm not sure what that comment is supposed to mean.

Edit: I'm interpreting Alicia's statement as that the main priority is Comcast wanting to keep short term capital expenditures under control, and putting off the construction of the last couple of worlds for 5-10 years is a really effective way of doing so. It could be that the intent really is about preserving the ability to add a future IP, but that isn't the impression I'm getting, especially given the lack of planned water lines and driveways in the large area 6 on my map.

I can't imagine Universal would open a park with an opening day size significantly smaller than its two current parks.

The path goes along Kirkman too and spurs into the park space just as the road does. Beyond that would be a separate project, but IDK why it would spur too if there weren't a reason to.

Eh. The only actual path on that preliminary plan is the one to the south. The rest all seem like guess work. We'll see though

Plus that is close to OCCC which will be a supplemental source of guests.

I hope Nintendo World is a benchmark for their park. It is multi level and could house almost twice the size of guest area. If we would get the concept art realized for Orlando there is Mario Cart and a flying boat ride in 1 attraction are for instance. I would love that it gives a lot of kinetic energy to the area. That is why I like People Mover and the Trolly in the Sky rides so much.

Resort Road will be renamed to Epic Court by end of project. :)

A road name is a road name is a road name. They'll pick a nice themed name for it when it comes time, but ultimately doesn't make a huge impact on the Florida Driving Experience (TM).

PhantasiaLand is less than 70 acres and packs quite a punch. This video is a nice behind the scene's for theme park fans.

I mean, according to Google Maps IoA is ~85 acres. I can absolutely see the new park opening with a similar amount of acres of used land, with a bunch set aside for expansions.

Plus, with not having a huge central lagoon, you have a lot more space

EDIT: FWIW, I think the park will be bigger than either UOR park at opening. Whether it has more rides than either, I don't know. But I think it will feel bigger.

Nice find . The park's main attractions seem nicely themed, plus street actors and high quality shows. Looks really good....as an aside...I couldn't help but reflect back on Disneyland having to acquiesce to California's strong occupational safety laws and build fences and structures protecting worker from falling from high places while maintaining rides. The Phantasia landscapers were crawling all over those cliff like structures, planting trees & shrubs, and there was no evidence of any protections. ;)

Not gonna lie, I'd be completely ecstatic if Fantastic World's ended up being a Phantasialand clone with SNW added on.

All signs point towards there being a hotel on the backside of the park, so I've been trying to figure out how that might fit into the infrastructure plans, specifically in what I've been calling area 5. It suddenly occurred to me that the odd semicircular indent on the otherwise circular lake in the NW corner of the land is perfectly located and sized to be a bus stop/turnaround in front of the hotel entrance.

Using pieces of other universal hotels, I put together a really shoddy representation of how such a hotel could be laid out:

mUPqpWwl.png

It uses the main building and porte cochere from SF, 2x room wing from CB, parking garage and bus stop from CB, and pool area from RP.

The scaling isn't perfect, but it should be pretty close - at least enough to show that a hotel would fit really conveniently in this space. Obviously it's not exactly how the parking garage and pool would actually be laid out, but it does show that both could easily fit within that area.

Of course, there are still lots of questions:
- How far around the south end of the lake will it extend?
- How tall will it be?
- What will the theme be?
- How will it interplay with the park hub icon?
- Or could the hotel itself be the icon?

Edit: Made a small fix on the image.

Originally I thought there's no way they put a hotel back there. But looking to try to verify that I kept seeing little clues to the contrary. Can't figure out how they all could fit together quite yet, still working on it. Or I could be on a wild goose chase :lmao:

Something in that nub would be the first thing you see coming to the new campus, you'd literally drive straight at it for about a quarter mile then the road curves before you pass it. Then inside the park if there's a 'main street' that goes straight to the hub from the entrance that nub would line up with the main focal point.

But the building would need to be situated to minimize backstage views. One side overlooking the pond and the other with views of the park. Not sure which side would be considered more premium, but it could be a small boutique hotel with all premium rooms.

They could play with forced perspective so themepark guests think they're entering that building for a certain attraction. But there's so many variables going on it's hard to nail any of this down.

I doubt that would be a hotel site since it's right up against the sewage treatment plant.

Not much of a view or pleasant smell...

I wouldn't consider nearly 1,000 yards away to be right up against. There'd basically a themepark between them, would someone want to go to a themepark right next to a sewage plant?
