A daytime Halloween/Trick-R-Treating event in IOA would be fun...They could even do a special Grinch show based on The Grinch that Stole Halloween...And more Marvel villians could make an appearance

UOR is looking into more events at the resort overall.

I do think an IOA Halloween event could be a big hit. At the very least, keep IOA open later on HHN nights to even out crowds between the scary and non-scary crowds.

Doesn't make sense to as there are only two areas where Universal has full control without having to get permission at IOA. Remember they did HHN at IOA back in 2002-2005. Marvel didn't like their IP used for it, Seuss Estate won't because it doesn't fit the Suess brand, and Potter won't get anything more than the possible Death Eater show and trick or treating.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Comcast will probably leverage their e-sports team and investments to put on a E-gaming festival, their partnership with Nintendo makes me think we could see a yearly event style thing where they showcase Nintendo projects while showing off the nintendo lands/parks, likely do a Star Wars weekend level event leveraging talents from their own products that will happen in conjunction with MegaCon and WonderCon nearby and a Renaissance/nature fair in the spring time. Lastly I see them bringing the USJ EDM nights from USJ where they hire world class EDM DJs weekly for a 2 hour in park dance party.

This makes sense...As much as people make fun of Epcot, some kind of international food festival at IOA or Citywalk would be fun

So just to sum up....Halloween Festival = far fetched for Seuss and Harry Potter;
EDM Festival = likely

The complications of using IP land at Islands of Adventure for events is why I think that the new park will be more event oriented.

If Nintendo, Lord of The Rings, and Sanrio all are apart of the fourth gate, odds are, you'd still deal with rights complications, to some level.

True, but if Universal wants events at the new park they can factor all of this in.

More generic like Mardi Gras where it doesn't necessary effect the IPs but specialized enough people will want to go.

I would like to see Potter do Halloween season. I always loved that setting in the books and movies. Kid friendly, light themeing, lots of pumpkins, more halloweeny themed family night time show.

Best plan would be to build some kind of event 'space' where they could open and close it depending on when the event is happening

Sounds like a waste of space to me, and that’s not really something universal should be doing imo.

Also the Grinchmas area, they could use a much more space efficient method for that event.

EDIT - is that a tarp around the openings? Haven’t ever seen that.

I just took the first image off the web I liked. I think this one came from a 2010 article so I wouldn't worry about the tarp.

I agree a year round HHN park would be a bad idea .But a special event park(area) might be doable .A HHN event area built from ground up would be amazing. Could also be used as a Harry Potter Celebration area . Nintendo special weekends,Grad Nights , Corporate event nights .Ect.

This is used more than people think. Not only during Celebration of Harry Potter, but also for other private events like those cheer-leading competitions.

-_-

Most of the events you name (HHN, Grad Night, Corporate Nights) are entirely designed around known, popular, theme parks. They structured as "private," after-hours events where you can ride rides with other members of a specific community, and see unique shows to support it. Suggesting that Universal build an "event park" (ie - a park designed strictly for special events) is... It leaves me really confused And speechless.

Universal HAS space for these events already. The theaters and soundstages (specifically 33) are all leveraged to support this stuff. The new park may have an equivalent to SS33, but it's not "required." If a corporation wants to buy out a park, Universal has 3 already, soon to be 4 that can be bought-out. Universal can host Grad Night or Rock the Universe at ANY of their parks. They don't need a "special event park" is completely unnecessary (because that's the actual parks) and the "areas" will be multi-use.
