Epic hours are out for September and.... the park is open 10:00 am to 8:00 pm. This is unacceptable.

As a rope-dropper and unabashed neon lights lover, I am okay with this.

That's going to make it even tougher to get short line time. When they cut 10:00 PM closing to 9:00 PM closing, it became harder to find a decent line for Ministry & DK Minetrain. An 8:00 PM closing just about destroys the evening touring advantage. Plus the park is most beautiful in the evening. Basically, it's still dusk at 8:00 PM in Sept. , though the sun sets 15 or 20 minutes before 8:00.

Insanely frustrating to still be scheduling the brand new park that thrives at night what’s essentially enough hours to only staff TMs for mids.

This is crazy and so annoying on every level. You can tell everything in the park is built on such a scale and with so much capacity that it needs huge numbers of people to operate, but they surely must have thought about how to keep that sustainable in the longer term. And have they now really invested the money in a new night show only to kick everyone out with hardly even the time to buy another drink or snack? Plus if current numbers and spending truly don’t justify staying open, for goodness sake let the APs in who have been waiting the whole year to come and give them money.

Make it make sense.

I’ve already bought a one day ticket for Sept 29 and the hours are 9am to 6pm for that date. I’m going to have to call to get my date switched to the day before now. This is crazy. Those Monday and Tuesday park days during HHN have to be popular among visitors coming for HHN. Really got screwed on that day.

Heh, making my choice to forgo Epic during my HHN trip easy. I think they are stuck between a rock and a hard place, if Epic closes more then an hour after IOA closes every hopper is going to flood Epic because why not. The solution is to keep IOA open until 8 and run the Hogwarts show, but that would mean an expansion of hours and increased costs.

The numbers at the beginning of the summer travel season were "soft". The projections going forward are... abysmal. Like pandemic era bad.

That's my guess. Soft-looking numbers, assuming most of the visitors are there for that lil old HHN thing.

Not unexpected. The third quarter comparisons (2025 vs. 2026) will be ugly unless HHN saves the quarter. Kind of like the old days when HHN was Universals rock. Terra hasn't done well weekdays for most of its existence. I'm wondering, worst case scenario, if they might close it for a couple months. Guessing they have a lot of empty hotel rooms across the resort looming in the near future.

That said, there's adjustments that Universal can make to increase demand, especially at Epic. But they all involve bringing AP's back into the fold with plans that are reasonable costs, not the crazy high cost levels that some mentioned Universal floated in surveys. For some reason, Universal Execs. seems to have a higher regard for Epic demand than the general public does .Universal really needs to get real concerning what people will pay to attend Epic, especially for repeat visits.

Yeah, it’s gotta be about time to pull the annual pass lever if they’re really expecting things to be this soft.

8pm closes for Epic before the time change is so maddening.

If they’re looking at bad projections, then at minimum consider a reasonable after 4pm option for APs (and yeah, the options I saw in that survey were mostly unreasonable). If hotels are their biggest concern…I don’t think they can paper over that with APs getting even full day Epic access.

Hotels for opening weekend of HHN have kept decreasing, I just saved another $20 compared to last week at Aventura.

Given that flight costs are 30-50% more than they were last year for the same route I'm not surprised that people aren't traveling right now.

Actually, last week saw the busiest day of commercial flying ever documented.

There’s still an appetite to travel. But it is expensive. People have to choose their trips more carefully and there’s a lot more world to see than some permanent theme parks located on the surface of the sun.

I love the parks, but even I have difficulty justifying a theme park vacation in the summer versus a (I’d argue) nicer trip to Europe or a cruise. For the same price.

People love to vacation, even in hard times.
