I know it’s still up in the air but would any of you suggest going on Sat or Sunday to Epic this weekend? We are planning on doing IOA the other day (my friend has only ever done Studios). The ticket tracker thing says Sat has more available.

Yep, I really wish they kept it opening at 9AM but with the new opening being at 10AM, lines for rides will definitely be higher right at rope drop as opposed to how they've already been the past few days.

This comes down to what I suspected.

Yes, problems are going to happen, every park has a bad day, but I really wish they had added more simple (less prone for issues) attractions, to flesh out the roster.

An epic park, with epic rides, but needs more… low level stuff. A park can’t rely solely on complex headliners.

yeah I agree.
the technologically advanced rides are great, but the potter area needed at least 2 more attractions or experiences if the main ride closes, for example.
and I know each ip has a land and a portal, but maybe they needed more stuff in between the areas and in the front of the park.

Also reading that food waits were extremely long , and the park in general felt under staffed for the demand.

Of course it’s Reddit , so I always take with a grain of salt , but there are a lot of angry people on there. After several days of mostly positive feedback since opening , today feels like one of the poor preview days.

Hoping for a better day tomorrow

11 rides sound like a lot, but if half of them were down that leaves like 6 to 5 rides open. and I heard that ordering food is kind of a hassle as well.

I recall that after the covid opening the food lines at Universal were extremely long, mostly because they pushed mobile ordering and made it hard for regular walk up ordering, After that chaos, they backed off of mobile ordering and increased the ability to walk up to the counters.....Well, it just so happens that Epic pushes mobile ordering in a couple of different forms.....Coincidence in chaos?....Like Virtual Queue, sometimes trying to force stuff on people that the majority don't want. WDW tried to force people to use mobile ordering, now they've backed off and most use regular lines....Mobile is OK to offer as an alternative for the minority that like playing with their phones all day or doing stuff in advance, but most people just want to walk up to an ordering line when they feel like it.

The road to get Universal Orlando's expansion plans back on track took numerous ownership changes, some luck, and a significant partnership with a "boy wizard".

Long posted wait times today again today so far. And it appears everything was up and running. Of course we know that Ministry is running less than max, but there
just might be an overall capacity issue, as we discussed earlier this spring. Bares watching to see if this alleviates somewhat once Ministry is running complete capacity in the future.....Now they can sell those $300 Express Passes. ;)

I wish I was a fly in the wall in that meeting between JK Rowling and Disney.

Great article!

Always forget about the time Comcast believed it could acquire Disney.

If everything had gone to plan Potter would have had an extra attraction to soak up guests.

However money doesn’t grow on trees and this park was already going over budget with what was already planned.

Throw in Covid and now tariffs that’s a recipe for disaster for an ambitious theme park. They managed to accomplish so much with Epic.

I’m sure Creative is actively developing plans for expansions and other ideas to help with issues like shade. It’s not an easy task to satisfy all guest demands.
