So; time for a little roundup..

~As known, TFD (The Flying Dinosaur) is opening in about 10 days; as testings have been occurring very often. Now, its being tested of the rides Zero-car..which, it looks badass.

~Also (talked on the Nintendo coming to Universal thread); it has been leaked that NintenSaka (Nintendo-Osaka) will be reported in its budget, around the 350 Million dollar mark to 400 million dollars. It has also been reported that the Osaka version will open in 2020; the year of the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.

USJ、マリオに400億 任天堂との新アトラクションは正面ゲート左側に - 産経WEST

Also, an individual on the forums if i'm not mistaken; @Jwhee did a little photoshop; to give this to matter.

To give perspective, it would possibly be taking the 4D-Theatre (occupied by Shrek, Seasame, Evangelion), the studio wing, and taking down a attraction that many here have wanted to be ported for Orlando, "Space Fantasy: The Ride".

So, thoughts on this?

I would really be surprised if they axed space fantasy the ride, for the nintendo area I could see them taking out the area that they currently use for the 'cool japan' since there's a 4-d theater there and basically an office annex that they use for special events. And off the topic of nintendo, I have nothing but love for the park because it really is a "weird, unique universal time machine." Because you have some of the best rides in Universal history blended in with some of the current huge attractions like harry potter. One thing they bearly talk about this park that I love, is the amount of people that cosplay which this place is perfect for it. <- link to that evidence.
TL;DR
I love the park, its cool. I'm happy I bought an annual pass.

It also seems that BackDraft will be closing around that same time...

If I'd be guessing what's in store for the plot, I have a feeling that the lightning will strike twice, if you know what I mean.

It's Diagon lol. The plot of land that BTTF sits on (including backstage) is near 8 acres. More than enough room for DA.

I was thinking either the Simpsons ride or a new One Piece attraction as a replacement.

The Simpsons isn't popular in Japan..and a One Piece attraction; even as I think the anime and manga is ok; doesn't deserve that space.

Heres the thing; One Piece is something that is incredibly niche; much like Attack on Titan and Evangalion (sob on that one), and not everyone will want to do that.

Compared to Potter, Jurassic Park, Snoopy and Spiderman (which are featured prominently in USJ); It makes One piece look pale.

Your also dealing with an issue on culture vs business as that can be key to some of the choices that Comcast has made through the past years (Harry Potter brings some of the biggest movie/book fans, Nintendo will bring the gaming fanbase to the parks, Hello Kitty brings in a brand new audience that hasn't really been shown attention, F&F/TF/Kong brings in those that are fans of pure blockbusters).

Also that would be out of total left field and we already know the properties Universal intends to bring to USJ.

Just because something is popular in a country doesn't mean Universal is going to buy the rights.

Lots of people tussling between Minions and Diagon. If Backdraft is definitely closing (sounds like it), then I'm placing my bets on the Alley.

USJ has announced three new unique experiences that will start on July first and will last till September. These experiences include a 4D show based off of Dragonball Z in the 4D Theatre; an Escape Room based off the Anime, Death Note; and an retheme to the Waterworld show; based off of One Piece.

I'm a huge DBZ fan, so I would love to see this, even though it looks like another temporary 3D show. Either way, very cool. Scott, if you're still reading this thread, I'll be looking forward to your review of this when it opens!

I'm pretty stoked about the One Piece and Dragon Ball shows/attractions. But I will admit that I had a really rough time with the Biohazard the escape, aka the resident evil escape room, as it was really difficult but I really like most of the source material for the attraction. But, I know next to nothing about deathnote so I'm afraid I'm less then interested to pay extra money to see that.

The One Piece Waterworld show they do every other year (its an hour long), however they have never had Death Note or Dragon Ball_z. I'm sure these are just the initial overlays for Universal COOL this year and 2 more will be announced.
