My wife was successfully scanned in while wearing sunglasses and a hat. Wild how it works!

It was also in the Monsters queue, which was pretty dark for the camera to see

I was surprised that they put the lockers inside the queue and not beforehand like with FJ lol

They know people will be waiting and want their phones for distraction.

The only issue I had with the facial recognition for lockers was Hiccup’s and that was only because of the angle of the sun had my face half in bright light and half in shadow.

Not sure where to put this, UOR is hiring a Director of Artificial Intelligence Technology. Essentially responsible for looking into ways to implement AI into the parks, specifically operationally.

Likely useful for backend systems like improving human resources and data solutions, but unsure how it can be utilized at a guest-facing level.

Sorry for the double quote... but wanted to know if the technology is having issues at the front gate or if they've changed policy? My last few visits required/mandated me to take out my AP and scan it. I loved being able to just show up and scan my face without having to dig into my pocket for the ticket. Any idea if the system just has glitches? It's been like that for a month now, at least on my visits.

Yeah, they've changed recently but not sure why. My husband has noticed the same changes as you and loved not having to fish his AP out of his wallet.

During our trip last September, we had to scan our passes before getting the facial scan. When did they stop requiring that?

Also - can anyone confirm that they're using the facial scanning for Express at Epic?

There were a couple months where you didn't have to get your pass scanned at all (only if the photo validation didn't work).

Currently they're back to scanning passes, then facial scan.

Yes, they are doing the facial scanning for Express queues.
