I'm not a fan of Musk or how he runs his companies. I wish Universal could have found a company to work with which better aligns with my values.
However, I'm trying to look at the bright side and steel-man a bit... I (mostly) trust Universal. Woodbury very likely would have signed off on this. There's a good chance they were shown plans which looked 1) reasonably feasible and 2) looked financial sound.
I do have concerns, including budget, price for guests (I would hope this is free, at least for ticketed guests), throughput, safety /environment, etc. But, I'm going to do more research and 'wait and see' before judging.
In a perfect future, site A and B will be connected with a free transportation method providing high throughput, with the project being completed on time and within budget (hopefully before 2030s), without relying on tax payer dollars. The tunnel would, in theory, alleviate traffic congestion and emissions.
I think it's up to us to voice our concerns and hold the companies and local government to the above standards, and make your voice heard not just on these forums.
