And correct me if i'm wrong, but isn't there more land near that area that's already owned by Universal? Or is it just that space. Because I believe theres a little bit more, that was/(or, still is) owned by NBCUniversal.

That said; I'm just personally wondering if they'll start infrastructure work soon, if they want to get a third gate open fast? Or are we still a year or two off from that, as I coud see infrastructure work start at the end of the year, or shortly after VBs opening.

I personally wouldn't expect anything until mid-2017 or so at the earliest, but that's just an educated guess based on how many projects are currently in the works. With a full water park in the works especially, I can't imagine anything starting sooner.

FYI

They also now have a seat on the I-Drive Vision Board, unsurprisingly

When Comcast said a while back that they got plans for 20 years..this is very telling. Especially now, as we now have the chance of getting a lot of the land lost in Viviridi's time back, and that makes me EXTEREMELY excited for what the hell lies ahead in the next few years.

I get the feeling the plans are a lot more immediate than that.

It won't be too soon. A whole lot of trips to the planning and zoning board, water management department, council meetings and public hearings have to happen before they start moving dirt around. Some of these new projects seem to take a year or more to go through zoning and thats just for a simple project. Something like this is going to be gone through with a fine tooth comb.

Yeah tell me about it. We are just trying to build a guard shack at our gated entrance in our neighborhood and you wouldn't believe the red tape, meetings, and votes we have to go thru. Approval can take 3 months just to get it finalized even though everyone has pretty much already signed off and approved it.

Hmmm.... I guess the members of this website burned their candles down to nothing last night. They certainly aren't present this morning.

OK. To kick discussion into gear, I'll pretend I'm an Insider on one of those non Orlando United websites that make up so called Insider information....* Comcast, to make up for the possibility that TV & Cable networks viewerships are in decline, is going to cut all of their expansion budgets * Nintendo Land will now become Atari land since that IP comes really cheap. And of course they are going to keep the Woody Woodpecker Coaster since it's already there. It will be rethemed to two dots racing up & down hills *Universal will let the deal with Rowling expire since Coke has offered really big money to put their beverages in the former Harry Potter Lands. Harry Potter will be rethemed to John Carter since Disney offered them the IP rights for less than nothing. Three Broomstick will be rethemed to a Martian oasis bar/restaurant. Dragon Challenge will be rethemed to the 7 Really Short Martians Coaster. Forbidden Journey will have all the sets & screens replaced by cardboard cutouts in a Meet & Greet called Beauty & the Horned Martian Beast *Marvel Island will become DC land, as Disney will pay $4 billion to get the Marvel, east of the Mississippi, rights back *Comcast is tearing down the new King Kong attraction because they finally realized its an exact clone of Hollywood Kong and no one wants to see that.....Next month, a new set of really inside Insider information. A nominal yearly fee of $600 will get you access to that insider information. And we'll send you a free sticker & t-shirt as a special bonus. (Unbelievably, this last one is for real)

A movie based attraction based on The Martian? I kind of like it.

It shows how on top of things we're at on OU. We've been talking about this subject on a couple of threads today before this tweet came out. OU Forums are groundbreaking and the crystal ball of Universal. :)

Things are happening. From what I understand, they are going into the long slog overdrive in the next two weeks. Sorry to be so vague, but I must be careful with info right now. I am prancing on 1" ice with this share.
