HDHOF isn't Uni owned I don't believe (which was how I missed it). It's done by the people who have done Rainforest, T-Rex, Boathouse, etc.

That is incorrect.

I'm glad you really brought the facts to the table.

Not that I don't believe you, but if you're going to say something, at least be able to back it up.

I know Starbucks is a franchise location owned by Universal. I assume it would be the same for at least a couple of the other chain properties.

I believe the concept was from the same guy, but Universal "owns" it. I'll double-check though.

UPDATE: Nope. Universal doesn't own.

Yes, Universal would get a part of the revenue in addition to rent. This is very typical when places are inside another place. Convention centers is another example of this. I used to work for a coffee place in a convention center. The company that owned the convention center was very cautious about lying about revenue. So they would come by and you had to count and mark cups so that they knew how many cups of coffee went out the door.

Now their "mall" or "food court" locations did not do this, they just leased the space. So we didn't have to count cups or do other crazy stuff at those locations.

It would be interesting to see how many franchises they own. Cold Stone is a franchise type business too, so they could own the franchise. A bunch of those chain places are franchises.

Anyone know if that long ago rumored World Of Warcraft land for Uni is still alive in any conceivable little spark of a possibility? I wonder if there is no way to nab the LOTR rights, and the WOW films are a hit, if this is a real possibility. I don't know how serious those rumors were, but it seems like a cool idea for an expansion.

If Warcraft is a hit I'm sure that's a possibility...but I think that has a slim chance of happening

There's already a Warcraft park and it looks pretty amazing considering it's not even a legally licensed park.

How much thought do you think UC is being asked to put into the possibility of extending whatever transportation further south (of the new property) JIC SeaWorld is available for bargain basement rates? (Baseless BlueSky Speculation)

I don't see it being a hit either. I don't see it really appealing to anybody who isn't already a fan and I think the fans will probably get annoyed by how it's represented.

It's a valid point about connecting the two parks that people will start to think it's just one giant park. God knows, Universal spent enough advertising it as two seep rate parks.

My completely baseless prediction is that they will use some of the new land for some sort of horror/scary experience. A permanent home for HHN and/or a daytime park with rides and attractions based upon horror IPs, Universal Monsters, etc.

Imagine what Universal could do if they could build a HHN house from the ground up as a permanent experience. Think Dueling Dragons queue quality. And not a maze you're forced through with a bunch of drunk people -- a high-quality experience over the course of 20 or 30 minutes as you move from room to room and experience live theatre and state of the art effects.

HHN is too much of a moneymaker for them. It's time to take it to the next level.

They did. And it was in Hollywood, from early 2007 to 2014. And the reason why that closed is for many reasons; disclosing the replacement coming to its plot. First off, it was in a operation POV, a nightmare. Keeping In mind that USH is a different breed than USO, it still wouldn't work due to that reason.

That being said, that doesn't mean that they don't possibly get a larger presence than they are going to have in the current USF park; but thinking that a walkthrough attraction like that could work, it wouldn't and its for damn good reason.

Looks like a new park opening between 2022 and 2026. Probably massive amount of hotels and transportation too.

I'm imagining something like the Epcot area, where you have the park itself, an entire hotel section off to the side (Like The Boardwalk area hotels), a large lagoon for a big nighttime show, and possibly a monorail running through the park for transportation, possibly themed to Jurassic World.

But that's just very off the cuff, blue sky thinking.

I agree that something that can do a good night time show is a must.
