Maybe they built it this way so psychos like us (Universal theme park fans) would stay away.

"Please don't descend on our parks for vlogs!"

Legoland looks like Disney Sea compared to this place. And yeah it’s not supposed to be a destination park but again I believe there will be a certain level of minimum expectations that will be missed due to brand affiliation.

Also fwiw I’ve got 3 kids. 2 of the 3 would have loved this place at the appropriate age. So just to clarify the majority of small children will absolutely love this place and have a ball. But how the parents will be at the price point and overall quality of the product will be something to watch.

I think over time following the build you saw what it was gonna be but initial concept art was thinking more DreamWorks land and Camp Jurassic level kids park.

This is not a terrible concept for a B-ticket, non-traditional "expanded flat ride" type of experience... but holy smokes is that barren.

Tinker Bell's Busy Buggies at DisneySea is basically this same kind of thing, but executed with high-level theming.

I think this is probably true, though I do wonder how the lack of shade will impact word of mouth this summer.

It’s not like anyone expects anything less than hot as the surface of the sun. This is Texas.

We know what we’re getting into with July and August. Not a surprise.

Busy Buggies is soooo cute and well themed. I wouldn’t wait long for it, but when we did it as a walk-on … Loved it.

No reason (apart from Comcast saying NO money) for this new park to not have beautiful theming for b-ticket rides.

Honestly, this feels on par with the Peppa Pig “theme park”. Which…is a choice. I’m glad kids will love it, but will the product be enough for parents to purchase more than once?

I don't want to compare this to a DisneySea ride, since that's a completely different beast. But if Legoland is the benchmark for the type of park they're aiming for, then we can compare the "the horrible, no good, very bad Shrek ride: their dino safari rides. Those are much lusher based on the footage, atmosphere, and scene design.

Yeah, atm this feels a step below Legoland, but above Peppa Pig Park in terms of quality and scale.

I also want to add on that elaborate and huge attractions like in the Studios class parks can be overwhelming for young kids. It's not "they're stupid they'll like anything", it's "this can be intimidating and we want to make something welcoming".

I do agree with this to an extent - although kids are weird. My 5 year old son absolutely LOVED Skull Island and was absolutely mortified on ET Adventure lol

I believe they’re restricted here to not open until 10. Agreed, though, my daughter already has me up at 630. I’d rather get out and do this park before the sun has fully risen.

Nothing like your kid waking up at 6AM and the park doesn't open until 9 or 10AM

(This happened to me in May)

As far as specifics - good lord that Shrek ride looks atrocious. I assumed there'd at least be a narration throughout the entire attraction.

On a positive note, the Puss in Boots land actually looks pretty well done and the outdoor show in that area looks cute/fun.

Without question that's the best looking land in the park and the puppet show is really cute. Honestly wish they had done a Puss-themed carousel in that land, too.

Everything I've seen about the land made me say "wow if they all looked like this it'd be a rousing success" lol

I’ve watched a bunch of the previews but haven’t really gotten to see a lot of info about the restaurants, menus, etc. I’m excited to see that.

My son is a UOR regular at this point and one thing I noticed in this park is that he was more game and volunteered for certain rides, even the “intimidating” ones whereas he is very apprehensive about ET

I tried the crispy shrimp bowl from the Puss In Boots restaurant and the beef skewer bowl from the Jurassic World Canteen and both were quite good! The Brozone soft serve ... not so much.

Came out of slumber to say that Shrek “ride?” May be the worst thing Universal has ever done. This makes that Disney Limo ride look like an E ticket.
