If Universal UK recreates major attractions that have already been dumped by Orlando, because it wants to be seen as the nostalgia park, I think it will fail to attract the number of visitors it wants. Jaws was a great movie (not so much the sequels, though), but it’s already 50 years old, will be closer to 60 by the time the park opens. For many families it’s an IP that they have very little engagement with, for plenty of young people they’ll be largely unaware of it beyond the general knowledge that it’s a movie about a shark. Doesn’t seem like a great foundation on which to build an E-ticket attraction. If Universal largely clone the ride that used to exist in Orlando to a modern day audience used to Forbidden Journey, Ride of the Resistance, Jurassic World Adventure, etc, it will seem extremely poor by comparison. Even back in the day I didn’t think it was a great attraction, being cheesy and having very little repeat ride value when you knew where the jump scares would be. Today it would be laughably bad. Universal can do better, and must do better
