Eh, I was reasonably convinced by the source. As for HP, think about it; the original film series will be 30-35+ years old by the time this park gets 'round to incorporating the franchise, if it does. Whatever one's personal opinions, the upcoming TV series is going to massive, and define what Harry Potter means to entire generations. It'll be firmly into the fourth or fifth season by the time groundwork begins, if true, nearing the finale by opening. By contrast, the film series' cast will have aged out to incorporate them into any elements; it's therefore perfectly logical to...

So cloned rides doesn’t mean cloned IPs, so does that mean Orlando might get LOTR or will they wait a while after UGB has opened until they open it over there? That’s if it’s happening.

There were old rumours about Game of Thrones / HotD too, though I think they've been quiet for a while (perhaps post-securing LOTR? Who knows... ).

Again, what's the source? Nothing sounds believable. I don't see a park with wide-family appeal like Universal or Disney making entire lands or attractions on such mature IP like GoT/HotD. I've never seen that mentioned as a realistic possibility.

Not sure about that no cloned rides when Minion Mayhem is clearly visible in the art.

(I guess if it’s the omni dome version and not the old Funtastic one in Orlando it counts as different?)

And with the success of the last Twisters movie and with a sequel in the works maybe now would be a good time for a new Twisters ride

I'm not convinced that Twister has a particularly big following in the UK/Europe (though I could be wrong). I think maybe the concept doesn't connect so much here because we don't get that sort of weather much (unless you count little whirlwinds that take a few roof tiles off a house, but that doesn't make for such a good ride, haha).

Having seen the videos and pictures from Epic, I'm absolutely convinced that whatever IP we get, Universal will make it look stunning and will create a park that people from all over the world will be clamouring to visit. Obviously I want them to build the worlds that resonate with me most (because don't we all?!) but I accept that I'm not going to get another Isle of Berk and they're unlikely to build me a Pallet Town so instead I'll focus on being excited for what we will get, whatever that ends up being.

As for City Walk, it's possible that they're saving that for another announcement somewhere down the line to generate some more buzz. I can't see them building without a dining area, I think it'll be a huge money spinner for people locally who are and are not visiting the parks.

Wikipedia says we don't.

I think the closest chain we have is Chopstix which does noodles, rice, toppings, etc. Not really the same though!

I would love to see a Bubba Gump at the City Walk. Is it already in UK or even outside the US?

Full quote:

"Universal will not place any significant presence of popular IPs in USGB that cannibalises any part of the 1Million people who visit Florida every year. They want people to visit BOTH resorts every year, not make a choice."

As it was getting into the well trodden conversation about Potter (and now Nintendo) being the "Obvious choice for UK " or whatever variations on the same theme

I don't think anyone is flying 4000 miles for minion mayhem which is why I said significant presence.

It's not a question of whether you can clone an IP or not, it's what the IP offers that hasn't been done in Orlando.

Fast and Furious is hugely popular in UK box office but would you put one in this park if Florida is (rumoured to be) about to get a Fast coaster?

We have to balance audience draw, the things that make the IP popular/familiar, with what's already been taken for Florida.

Put this another way, what could possibly build in Florida for Harry Potter that is as recognisable to mainstream as Gringotts, Diagon, Hogwarts & Ministry of Magic. hogwarts express? The answer is not too much.

They will be thinking about balancing UOR and USGB now in the coming years

I’m more curious if we are seeing citywalk in the concept art that was released. Lots of people have said it’s not in the concept art, and for me if it’s not, that’s quite a big thing still to be added.

The concept art looks like Chocolate Emporium is on one side and possibly other stuff on the other??

I wouldn't get your hopes up, it looks as if this area is an exact clone from Beijing

If they were going to clone the ride system, they could at least use it for BTTF and make it a small land.

I'd love to see them do a Minions ride with the SLOP ride system and compact layout. I'd hope that could be an eventual replacement for Fallon at USF years down the line too.
