For the love of god PLEASE tell me why you think the back half is Jurassic World/Park, when it has zero recognisable features, this building would be the main weenie for the park as it's direct line of sight as you walk in and yet it looks like nothing obvious from any of the movies, here is what JW looks like from Beijing artwork

The big building entrance just "feels" Jurassic World maybe because of the ball on top (and I don't know if that makes sense) and the octagonal building to the right "feels" Jurassic Park but you're right it could just be it fits when someone says it but not when you look closer?

I can't decide what the Jurassic area would be otherwise because it's so large and if the large building's facade is meant to be contemporary looking. Wicked is big here and the film did really well but 2 huge rides including coaster and shot towers doesn't sound right for the audience, and it's too contemporary unless it's very placeholder, though the circular buildings could be a munchkin land. Still, that'd be a big move on something that could be transient so I'd guess not.

Or it could be a complete fake out until they're ready to announce LoTR which tbh isn't far-fetched because it's a massive, enduring IP with huge draw and fits perfectly for the UK and you get to have HP style stuff like an immersive Hobbiton with a tavern selling drinks, dancing hobbits, etc. Plus it'd make the park have something completely distinct to draw Americans over.

If you want to play a 1 V 1 game, put Wicked up against Jurassic world. It made almost 25 Million more. If you want to say recently Wicked has made more, sure, but Jurassic World eclipsed it heavily. I just don't see the staying power of Wicked over the long haul. It feels like a flavor of the month right now. I could be proved wrong, but the IP doesn't feel like it has universal demographic appeal.

To provide balance, in the UK Wicked is a huuuge show that fills seats every single showing and so is more in the zeitgeist than elsewhere perhaps. But I actually agree, these are huge investments so you really want to see that the movies' popularity endures. I'd put money on it being planned for an expansion plot assuming the second film does as well as the first and is still relevant 5 years later. That said what better way to make an IP stick than make a well themed land everyone loves.

Hmmm, now you've got me hoping the Bond stunt show will have a 1960s Cold War vibe. Maybe the waiting area is a town square in Prague with some Knockturn Alley type nooks and crannies (restrooms, etc.) and there's a bar with actors playing spies.

Interesting snippet from Jason Surrell, former Executive Creative Director at Universal Creative, who until recently led the Universal Creative team working on USGB: the team doing the master planning started work on the project in 2021.

There just seems to be a lot of vague details compared to most of other early concept art that Universal has released in the past. Not saying that it is bad....we will find out eventually.

A few observations.....I do think that the Minions coaster is real and has a dark ride portion inside the building before it launches into the coaster section. if that is the case it is a brilliant move by UC because Minions is the one IP that I feel has been totally mismanaged in the parks.

The back section of the park from the green coaster over to the rumored Shrek and/or LOTR area seems like it will be the most likely area to change and/or be fleshed out. I think that the Water World (Bond?) show is a mistake for this park.....but maybe that's just me. I would have had a grand land in that spot with a mountain/castle type structure being directly opposite of the main entrance. Monsters (castle) or LOTR (Mount Doom) would have been terrific icons back there.

A little underwhelmed at this point by the IPs and offerings.....I'm sure that will change as details emerge.

In the end this is concept art. Yes Universal often fills in that art in reality but not always. For a part they keep their cards close to their chest due to the competition, and things can and will change. All suggestions that are offered are great but in the end it's the execution that counts for me. Will it be on the high level of Epic Universe or will it be something between the regular Studio parks and Universal Kids. What makes me happy is that I don't see studio buildings in the concept art. I expect that element is for sure gone.
Exactly and the fact they still seem to be hiring for the design of this park this is definitely a work in process.

In my opinion the concept art is extremely vague and seems unfinished for it be the final product.
Maybe the layout is correct but the IP’s have not been ironed out yet.

One thing is for sure and that’s the outdoor portions are going to be limited compared to other locations with everything mostly being inside.

I think it will depend on that final IP if it is indeed just shrek I can't imagine Jurassic park and BTTF alone are going to entice that many international visitors, Minions and paddington definitely won't

I know about the studio tour having rights within a 50 mile radius? But honestly I won’t believe anything until Universal announces what’s actually coming to the park. Contracts can easily change when a company is offered a lot of money.

I think some people are taking too much from the concept art. As others have said I think it’s going to be fleshed out a bit yet, before we get concrete IP’s.

I believe it’s been said already, but to me the canopy structures to the southwest of that show building look like the thatched roof huts that dot the Jurassic area in Hollywood. I just cannot figure out what the disco ball on top of that big show building is supposed to be — part of me thinks it’s just a placeholder for the concept but it’s such a specific touch that I can’t help but scratch my head when I look at it.

So who is regurgitating old Park Stop information and pretending to be a source for the BBC then?

www.bbc.co.uk

James Bond and Paddington could star at Universal UK

Lord of the Rings and 007 – but not Harry Potter – are expected at the Bedfordshire theme park.
www.bbc.co.uk www.bbc.co.uk

I have a full 2D layout for the park similar to what I did for Epic back in the day , I will post it when it's ready. I can say that the park has room for three sizeable expansion pads ..and I don't believe they're done designing the park lands, just the master plan, also there's room for expansion for "paddington" or BTTF area fwiw

It's definitely Jurassic World though. The first map layout always has it look ambiguous so people can't guess what they're adding. It looks exactly like Jurassic World. The front of the Innovation center is identical to how it is in the movie and you can see the bridges out in front over water, the Beijing park also has it.
This one just had an extra one.

Exactly, the area in front of what should be the innovation center is exact to Beijing and not to mention the film set (I was an extra, so I recognize the curvature of the concrete and the building right away). My guess is they didn't want to give away the fact that it is Jurassic, so they have that ball on top rather then the triangular spire.

Not the most exciting part, but re: the theater in the Hollywood section:

The park in Beijing has a movie behind the scenes attraction with Spielberg and Chinese director Zhang Yimou. Could definitely see the British park having a similar attraction with Spielberg and Nolan.

IMO based on the size of the lands LOTR should go in one of the expansion plots instead rather than be a day one land.

The park being new is enough to entice visitors and hit 8.5 million. So LOTR makes sense for an expansion pad a few years after, which will certainly be popular/big enough to get those visitors back I think. I'd love LOTR to be there day one, but just can't see it happening.

I am sceptical whether the jurassic and BTTF will be strong enough to attract 8.5 million. I feel it needs another heavy hitter IP to attract a lot of europeans and such.

For me personally, BTTF is a dream IP. Even better a themed coaster to it (fingers crossed). Jurassic Park/World with a clone of the Beijing dark ride would get people flocking from the UK, Europe and US I think. I think the park as a whole looks strong enough, the 2 major coasters alone could potentially be pretty special.
