Sorry if this is the wrong place to post this, but I'm kinda wondering how this board felt about last year's event. It seemed like most people thought it was great but curious to know your guys thoughts. I didn't attend last year because I like, "Eh let's give it a year to work out the kinks," and then I had some pretty bad FOMO haha.
I'm going this year and looking forward but also feeling like I'll be kinda lost, I don't know anything about anime haha. Doesn't bother me too much because I usually like anything Universal does regardless of what it's based on. I am excited for the Universal Monsters and Scooby mashup, I think that'll be great, and of course Potter which is always my thing.
The Back to the Future Attraction is I think the great after hours attraction we've ever seen and not sure it will be topped anytime soon
It had soooo much happening, it was impossible to see it all in an hour, even in two rotations your still most likely missing an interaction or show.
D&D is fun, very well themed with a very amazing Puppet with some great lightening for certain scenes that look like your in a movie. I just wish it had more interactions for guests
JJK was fun enough, just needed a photo op with Gojo (thank Universal for having Sailor moon have both this year)
The One Piece Meet and Greets were fantastic, the only issue is the lines were just insane and while I do want to meet them...I had to wait 60-90 mins for them and thats just....alot.
Yoshi was cute but the line moved sooo slowly, I hope they have it faster like the one currently at the park because the current line moves like butter
Didn't care for the game, was a time waster to slow people down from meeting the two colored Yoshi's
Wicked Meet and Greets were also great, just would have liked more Wicked
Star Trek was fun, but I feel like something was missing from making it great. Not sure but the last scene was pretty fun because your on the Bridge and it was cool to see the Alien actors up close.
The Flux Capacitors band in the plaza were great, lots of energy and great song selection. They played a ton of songs from Movies, to the Power Rangers and Pokemon theme songs. To me something like this would be nice to have at USH all the time
HP Meet and Greets, they were super fun and very cool puppets. They did a mini show with the Niffler and that was always fun to watch.
Hogwarts Always - A solid show, and its cool that they switch off who wins...small complaint from what I saw it was always the same order which one happen.....so if you saw the first show it was always Gryffindor for example and wish it was truly random but as a show its cool
Most rides were near walk on's and tried some of the food but nothing I remember that well
For me BTTF carried the the event but had some really strong things to do overall and appreciate all the extra things compared to say a Disney after dark which is mostly just photo ops and meet and greets...with a few small like 10 min shows.
If your a local especially this for me an easy yes to going to the event.
