Feel free to move to an appropriate thread..

Permits have been discovered by Scott Walker for a Thunder Falls Terrace refurbishment. There’s speculation that they might be turning this restaurant into a full service dining location to replace Mythos. Perhaps with a concept similar to Hammonds in Beijing. Thoughts?

Some pics of my lunch from Hammonds in Beijing last year! If it's anything like that, we're in for a treat! The dessert both looked and tasted really good from what I remember!

Hope they find a place to relocate the pernil rice bowls, but this is an ultimate win for the park.

I don't think Pokemon would have fit well as a host for the fine-dining restaurant. Thunder Falls is only open for lunch (and not the busiest location) so removing a quick service location in IOA is not that much of an issue with the amount of quick service capacity the park has (so many locations are either closer or operating far below their intended capacity). Mythos was also relatively easy to get a reservation at, but attaching the Jurassic IP could generate more demand?

Not sure when this is intended to reopen, but is it possible for early next year? For reference:
Mel's closed June 2023, reopened Feb 2024 (8 months)
Circus McGurkus closed June 2023 and reopened Feb 2024 (8 months)
Monsters Cafe closed May 2022, reopened as Minion Cafe August 2023 (14 months)

It's already a beautiful restaurant, so I'd imagine its closer to the work done at Mel's/Circus versus a major remodel like Monsters Cafe.

Yeah, I can't imagine this taking that long. Like you said, the interior itself already looks great!

Any chance someone has a link to (or could record) the music inside the restaurant before it closes? I know the main Thunder Falls theme is easily available, but there is a very atmospheric and calming music loop that plays inside, and it would be a shame to lose it if the music changes

This is a bit of a far out thought but I haven't seen anybody mention it yet....Does anyone think if they're bringing Hammond's over from Beijing that down the line there is a stronger chance they could bring in Jurassic World Adventure where Kong is?

With Kong being on the newer side I wouldn't expect this very soon, but once Pokemon (and possibly Toon Lagoon after) are completed, that seems like it could be a good fit especially with this major dining spot opening right next to it. Not entirely certain of the ride dimensions but I know the Kong building is pretty big and it doesn't have a huge presence as is.

Especially if they're able to split Toon Lagoon into two smaller lands as some are suggesting, this all could come together nicely...

Interesting. I wonder if this is to off-set the closure of Mythos in 2027?

I'm really excited for this-- Thunder Falls Terrace is one of my favorite spaces in IoA and always has been. The existing dining space is already great, and taking out the "line" area in the middle and adding a bar will be a huge upgrade.

I really hope not.

Jurassic World Adventure is an excellent ride. I rode it many times over and over. But right next to Spiderman? No thanks. No more scoops in a park already with one, please.

I’d much rather have Kong, which is a good ride (particularly with the outdoor section open) and soon to be a totally unique ride vehicle and concept across the entire universal lineup worldwide.

Really looking forward to a table service Jurassic park/world (please keep it park) restaurant. Lots of potential and I hope they lean more towards a “signature” vibe to it.

Yeah, I do think leaning into the Jurassic Park type vibe from a theming perspective could be really cool, if they really focus on making it a 'signature' type experience, ala Mythos.

Also, agreed. Kong is a blast of a time and I love everything about it (that queue is a ton of fun).
