Never hurts to dream, Chris.

Let's face it....if the animatronics get any worse, they'll have no choice but to replace them completely eventually anyway.

I think that Comcast has proven that they are really invested in the parks, otherwise F&F would still be open as it was. I really hope that the refurbishment is in order for this winter and that they didn't announce it because is not as big as a new attraction... one can only hope...let's wait for winter and hold on to your butts

Aw man...

I'm heading to the park on May 16th and was looking forward to riding.

Hopefully it will be worth it.

Like WaterWorld, they usually perform major refurbishments during the winter season. But with WaterWorld being out of commission, I'd imagine they didn't want to close two major attractions at once.

I can imagine this to be a minor refurb.  Remember when they did a closure in November and December but still had the ride open on the weekends?  This April refurb probably wont be super extensive.  They will want it reopened by mid-May.

(Heavy breathing) Please be a major refurb... I don't mind this ride to be closed as long as it's restored to it's former glory. Lets hope...

I have a feeling that they'll wait until more attractions are open in the park before they temporarily seal the doors on an attraction like JP.

I'm expecting a minor refurb this time around, nothing more.

Probably some paint and annual cleaning of the water filtration system, but I do not expect any major robot updates.

There's a new SSFL attraction coming, saw it being painted last week, oddly enough they didn't finish building yet. It looks like a swinging pirate ship ride, although I may be completely wrong on that. This is the start of true themed lands!! (On a side note, Silly Swirly brought back memories of Dumbo. And that's a good thing. ) :)

well some news guys i went to universal today and I asked a Cm who was in charge of JP outfitters and he said it was going to be a month refurb for JP. Basically said its for skinning and a bit of animatronic related but he was surprised that it was going to be down for a month, especially in this time of the year. I also asked if any updates were going to be done to JP next year for Jurassic World and he said he didn't know about that for our version of the ride but he did say that there was talk about the Orlando version adding stuff to their version of the ride and also trying to rename the ride to Jurassic World.

This are really news... how extensive will the refurb be? The timing seems odd, either there were some major issues that needed urgent attention or really is Comcast helping this attraction limp to the finish line for a major major refurb in the fall. Is it possible that they could do a decent refurb in one month? A major and game changing refurb in one month?? Either way this is a major shift since GE would have let this ride die, as it did. No working animatronics? Meh, what's the big deal, GE would say. The other thing... are they really working on a pirate ship type attraction? That would be a major surprise.

Don't assume everything the cast member said was correct. Haha. Most of the time they aren't 100% correct.
