Please do because I'd take an Animal Crossing Land over literally anything else that's been rumored

The thing is, besides Mario and the gang most non Nintendo gamers don't know AC or Zelda. Universal Creative is amazing in making ip's liked by almost everyone even if the ip flopped hard (like Waterworld) but how will merch and food fair if a big enough part of their customers isn't as much into it as the fans. universal is contently interviewing their customers to see how they feel about certain ip's to help them to make a choice they have to live with for 15 to 20 years or longer.

On the flip side, I'm curious how many younger people love AC/Zelda and have never played a Mario game.

Realistically Animal Crossing would make a good store based on Nook.

On a podcast I once pitched an indoor Animal Crossing land like the Kung Fu Panda land. It’s indoors so the seasons can change every 20 mins or so. The sky and walls show different clouds and snow leaves etc. the trees are white with led prjections inside to change colors.

The main ride is Kappn’s boat tours that travels around the “island” around the perimeter of the building so you can see the kiddie boat ride from most places but it also has dark ride scenes at the back of the building.

A couple flats in the center too like Kung Fu Panda.

Th shops are based on the game with Nooks for souvenirs and Able Sisters for clothes etc.

You can purchase interactive tools at Nooks that allow you to “collect” items throughout the island like insects with a net or bells with a shovel. Tracked via the app. Use bells to upgrade your tools in the app.

At center of island is the Museum. With interactive exhibits inside and dynamic screen plaques under each exhibit that says username of people who “captured” insects and fish they found that day/week/ etc.

So yea, I think it could work in a theme park.

I’m not sure if you’ve ever been to / seen videos of Sanrio Puroland in Japan, but your pitch sounds right at home with its design ethos.

“Hangout” IPs can definitely make compelling theme parks lands (as your pitch illustrates), but I think they would have to go all in on interactivity without a mainline story to compel the audience.

Great pitch.

First off, how often does the statue get removed?

Second, a little bit back there was discussion on whether or not Shrek or Wicked should take over Springfield. Here's my take.

If Shrek 5 revives the IP successfully, AA can go for a SLOP style dark ride while Springfield becomes Wicked. That's the best balanced take IMO.

Wicked is 1 movie (two parts filmed as one and one musical. That's not enough to devote a land to.

Wicked is part of a series of five books, inspired by a series of forty novels.

EDIT - Also… Jurassic Park.

Amity also existed for what, 15+ years? (Yes, I know they haphazardly combined it and San Francisco, but Amity held its own as a discrete area...)
