Set in Japan? Perfect! That will allow them to sell Labubus and have restaurants that serve Pho and Dumplings with some K-pop street entertainment and a Pacific Rim attraction.

You know… because those are all Japanese-ish.

People get really really attached to IP's and are unable to accept that it isn't going to get the 20 acre fully immersive land they think it deserves.

This happens about once a month on here. :lmao:

It has already been built but you have to wait for some dork to issue a calling card before you can enter.

Or something.

Think of some IPs that would have you go "Oh yeah I would pay serious money to eat there!" Spongebob is absolutely one of them. Maaaaaybe Shrek with Friar Bob's and Donkey's (Chicken and) Waffles.

Everytime I think about it, I get sad because I don't think we'll ever get that Bikini Bottom land that I so desperately want lol.

Krabby Patties would absolutely print money.

If there’s ever a changeover, I wonder if they’d re-use the spinner, or if the big Kang (Kodos?) centerpiece makes to too custom to bother.

Depends on the age of the ride and cost. When they moved Dumbo I believe it was a new build-out.

Head to Texas next year.

Sure, they’ll be Zamperla flats; but you’ll be in bikini bottom, at least.

Thought about it for a bit. Here's how we make everyone happy. We extend Hollywood into Springfield to create a massive Los Angeles area with mini Chinatown, Japantown, Koreatown, and Little Saigon neighborhoods.

Hollywood
Stays the same

DreamWorks Land
New entryway that recreates the entrance to Dreamworks Headquarters in Glendale. Also more Shrek stuff.

Little Saigon
Clone Fast and Furious Supercharged with new footage bringing back the villain from the first movie Johnny Tran. A faithful recreation of 2001 era Little Saigon seen in the movie.

Koreatown
Universal owns the music rights to K-Pop Demon Hunters (but none of the other rights)! So we'll have a generic KPOP coverband perform those songs.

Chinatown
Labubu makes his theme park debut with a meet and greet. The Dreamworks theater is here showing that Kung Fu Panda movie from Hollywood.

Japantown
Includes a recreation of the classic King Kong ride, but this time with Toho's Godzilla (or Pacific Rim monster if we can't get the rights). Maybe Pokemon

There's no world in which Universal would close Supercharged just to rebuild it on the other side of the park, as a clone or otherwise. The Supercharged lesson's been learnt on both coasts.

My post is meant to be taken in jest. The scenario I was setting up where Universal builds two Supercharges in the same park is purposely ridiculous.

No fully themed SpongeBob is one of the biggest missed opportunities in the history of theme parks IMO. It looked like we were finally going to be getting a fully realized Krusty Krab in the Frisco Kids park based on concept art but now the building just looks like a standard boxy building and no accurate Krusty Krab exterior.
I'd love a Sponge land somewhere but I can't help but think a Toon Lagoon overlay would work best.
