Most guests would rather have an E level attraction over River of America and Tom Sawyer, too.

Sometimes it's not about attraction count; its about the ambiance of a park that you can't even describe or experience subconsciously that elevates the experience. Just because you can't quantify something specifically with numbers or satisfaction rating doesn't diminish it's importance as the park experience as a whole.

Don't misunderstand me. I love the ambiance and when everything fits together. I enjoyed TSI and do not like Cars going into that area. My main point was that the majority probably do not notice, except subconsciously. I've talked to people who go to Disney World multiple times per year who never went to TSI. I didn't go into Camp Jurassic for many years but now it is something I go to every time because it is a nice reprieve. I love the flowing water, caves, and ways to climb around and look out over IoA.

I just want this land to keep some of the mythical feel or feel like a forest to give a nice break between Suess and Harry Potter.

I've always loved the land design idea of interpreting the in-game experience of leaving your sleepy small town, finding your first Pokémon partner in the tall grass or at the Pokemon Lab in town, traversing a small woodlands surrounded by Pokémon, before making it to the big city with a Gym Battle experience and Pokemon Center diner.

Then as you leave the city you can transition back into the more natural environments again before Hogsmeade.

I believe that design layout builds super naturally, represents a solid vertical slice of a Pokémon adventure from the games and anime, and allows space for all the necessary theme park-y components. (Interactive challenges a la SNW in the woods; Lab as the entrance to both/either Pokémon Snap ride or an animal / puppet show; Gym Battle a la Bowser Jr. Showdown; Pokémon Center serving themed food.)

My problem is how much can they actually fit in LC? I feel like to truly give service to Pokemon, you need pretty much what you said. 2 rides or a ride and a show and then a bowser Jr type showdown. Plus shops. Plus at least a couple restaurants (Mythos replacement and some sort of quick service). Can all of that fit in that area?

Would they have to build it similar to SNW with levels?

Hate to break it to ya, but to most guests, USF is just random attractions thrown in the park as well. Pokemon would fit as well into USF as it would fit into IOA. The average guest doesn't care much about some unspoken rule that IOA=literary works and USF=film/tv. I think the reason many feel it works better in USF is solely because that park needs a huge draw much more desperately.

Nobody notices or cares. They NEED to complement each other? Skull Island is only next to JP since the foliage is the same and works for both lands. Currently, we have LC right next to a snowy Hogsmeade. But those complement each other well apparently?

I think you guys are grossly overestimating how much Universal cares about what lands are next to each other. As long as the theming from one area to the next isn't overly detrimental to feeling immersed when you're inside the other land, they do not care as much as you guys are thinking they do.

Most guests go to the Studios park expecting a Movie Studio park. That's its identity. That's how it was marketed. That's how it gained it's popularity. Ask the average guest to tell you the difference between IOA and Studios aesthetic, and I guarantee the most used answer will be "well, Studios is like going to a Film Studio, Islands is not."

I know it's often funny to joke about how clueless the gp guests are, and yes they can be clueless about park specifics and attractions. But it doesn't mean they are stupid. The Studios park has always presented and marketed itself as a film studio park, so suggesting most guests don't realize that feel like a gross miscalculation.

I'm with you. And I agree (and that was kind of my point) about the subconscious having it all tie in well.

The best video Mickey Views has ever done is this one right here.

Its a very long watch (1 hour) but well worth it. He encapsulates so well on how important things at the park are that can't be quantified with paid lightning lanes or positive review scores,

Scale and space is an element of the conversation, I agree.

Have any of our members made a scale comparison of the LC plot radius compared to other lands? I know that's happened for other projects, and LC is one of our oldest rumors. It'd be nice to get a solid look at however much space we've got here.

LC is about double the size of the Simpsons area. If you add MIB, then it becomes very close to the same size.

That said- it has multiple trans characters in it. It’s 2025, not 2021. Regardless of if you think that’s ridiculous to care about when bringing in an IP or not (most would think it’s ridiculous); let’s also be realists about this- NBCUniversal is not going to want to touch this in today’s climate with an entire land devoted to it.

There are no trans characters in Wicked and nothing further needs to be commented on the topic, which never even needed to be mentioned in the first case.

As a general PSA & reminder to all here: politics is not something we tend to get into here so please tread extremely carefully regarding political matters.

That's fair- but small point of contention to your post- I was not talking about Wicked, but One Piece (I had quoted the wrong comment).

No need to add any point of contention, the bigger point still stands: adding in the anecdote about trans people was unnecessary, and, again, does not need to be commented on any further.
