So hoping it’s good and word of mouth helps it

Weird month for my super-hero life. As a kid, John Byrne was (and still is) my favorite artist. He had a fantastic* run on Fantastic Four in the late 80's and started his great run on Superman at the same time.

He is a comic book legend and I believe is the only creator to do both Marvel's first (and first family) comic family *and* DC's first comic hero at the same time. And here we are.

I hope both of these movies do great. The are my favorite comics because of John Byrne.

*pun intended

Some recommended John Byrne titles:

- JB FF v1

- Superman

- Anything (except Doom Patrol) by John Byrne.

That is all.

Posting the reddit link as they are compiling reactions from critics; but Superman is being given glowing reactions from the premiere event.

Gunn did a great job with guardians so I am glad it sounds like he brought some of the magic over here. Third times the charm they say and hopefully this DCU can get off the ground.

So... I watched it! It was good. Not a masterpiece tho imo. I had a lot of fun with it and all the performances were great, the pacing was just too fast and it was all sorta messy. A lot happening and to keep up with. Probably my least favorite (as of now) of James Gunns comic book films but it was still really really well made. I just wish Clark was in the movie more. A lot more Superman than Clark in this film.

I'm hearing mostly good thing

It would be nice for DC putting pressure on Marvel to make better films again

I hope this is the beginnings of that. This is my favorite comic book movie since Infinity War.

Mine since No Way Home. It was everything I wanted a Superman movie to be. Major kudos to Nicholas Hoult for absolutely killing it as Lex Luthor.

I saw it....For me its good with some great moments but...I'm feeling around a 7.5ish

Its good but for me its not Ironman, its more around the Phase one Marvel films outside of the first Ironman/Avengers

Lex is fine but I just prefer the way they wrote him for the Superman 90s show/JL shows he was pretty much a perfect version of the character for me, I like the actor playing Lex but for now not really a character I want to see more of...I'm sure he will get more interesting but this film hes kinda one note and his feeling are just out there vs a Lex who hides his hate until its revealed

Hawkgirl....also a down grade from the 90s show...she is just there.

Mister Terrific was the stand out hero for me, he had some great moments and made me interested to see this character come back in DC comic films.
Guy Gardner they did really well with as well Nathan Fillion was a great choice.

I like Superman I think for me its the plot at points that have some real just cheat codes to get us where we need to go and I will be excited for better villains, the Engineer was pretty cool but she is a goon so hoping for someone with a better back story or real in the next film.

Its a fun film for me its good with moments of greatness, I had fun and liked it just they throw a lot at you and like most films...could have cut 30 mins if we cut a few side things we don't really need but DC has to throw soooo many things at you because they dont want to tell phase one storys any more they want to be at phase 2 where Batman is a veteran and Superman is not just know but people know he's a alien before the film and magic and monsters are just apart of life.

So I hope we get more and hope it does well in the box office so we can see the flash, wonder woman and more get a real Justice League movie

I loved the movie.

Despite watching many dozens of hours of Superman content, I've never been a huge fan of him. This version may change that for me.

I saw it in Dolby, absolutely loved it. I enjoy how we just hit the ground running, my only complaint is that there wasn't more movie to let some of the quieter moments breathe but the characterization is perfect, the casting is perfect, the action is unique and showcases everybody's powers in dynamic ways.

This movie is good but not great. For some reason I was surprised at how deep Superman’s voice was in this movie. Not a fan of Lois Lane in this one, not sure if this is better or worse than Amy Adams’ version. This Lex is probably the closest to a comic accurate version. The scene where Krypto basically Hulk smashes Lex was one of the best parts of the movie.

Liked it, didn't love it.

Corenswet, Brosnahan, and (especially) Hoult are perfectly cast, and basically any time any combination of those three are interacting, the movie's terrific.

I was not particularly impressed with the action or the plot, however.

Loved it! Solid 8 out of 10. Had no expectations of it other than being a Gunn fan/knowing his work.

It was different than any comic book movie I can think of visually. Gunn really put some spins on the editing/cinematography that stood out. Cavill’s Superman was great, but I’ve never been a big fan of Supes in general. That being said, I thought Corenswet did very well and you could tell Gunn is a big fan. Definitely a breath of fresh air!

I liked this a lot, but also didn’t love it. I think the editing and pacing of this movie are the biggest drawbacks. There was way too much of everything shoved into this. A *lot* of what was in the trailers was in this too. Wish we got more time with Ma and Pa Kent!!
