I remember @Teebin showed me info on that DK track western testing site all the way back before Nintendo was going to start its build & open at USF. He had all the Mario Kart & Yoshii stuff back then too...and that would easily have predated Japan if the last minute decision on Epic hadn't come down.

I was going to jump in on this and say I’m pretty sure based on what I remember reading on here years ago, SNW (DK included) was designed to fit into kidzone and it just kept a similar or the same layout as the one in epic

Well that explains it even more. It was never meant to be a landmark / large attraction due to space limitations. My point still stands , I hope they go all out for the next Nintendo ride . I’m also curious how you add power up band functionality to a Zelda land / ride
I know. Lot of people still want Luigi mansion , but I’m personally not a fan of shooting gallery rides. Hoping that’s not what Zelda eventually becomes.

I think donkey Kong was designed for Japan first which is why it was such a smaller coaster then what it could have been. Hoping the next Nintendo area takes advantage of the space and goes all out.

Universal Japan is like the 3rd most visited theme park on Earth.

I'm sure this has been discussed before; had SNW gone into USF, would we have gotten DKC? Where would that have gone? Based on the current layouts across the parks, that would place it over E.T., which doesn't sound right to me.

There was enough room for everything that’s there now at Epic without getting rid of ET but no room for expansion.

I’m already considering going up for another day during my vacation time that I’m taking for the Switch 2. This land more than any other makes me wish I was an Orlando local and it’s not even just the rides, IT’S THE GAMES!!!!! :sob:

In all my years I never bought a wand and yes I know the bands are just to keep score and the games are technically free outside Bowser Jr. but I still had to buy a Luigi band lol

Be cautious when its raining in the land. Last night during a downpour we got stuck in the tunnel going to donkey king and witnessed two people fall simultaneously flat backwards running in the rain toward the main part. (Middle part of the path between the freestyles and yoshis snack island)

Both were ok. But it was hairy.

Mario Kart emptied out after all the rain, so got to ride it multiple times. It definitely is ride that gets better with rerides, and probably is now my favorite shooter ride in all of Orlando..

I’ve been thinking since I first visited…what do they do in the main tunnel to Nintendo World during the rain? There’s nightmare scenario potential in there if people rush to the pipe escalator for cover but have nowhere to go at the top of the moving belt because everyone’s huddle up inside the castle.

Like is there a Team Member nearby at all times to stop the escalator when it starts pouring? Is there a sacrificial lamb to run through the rain to stop it? Can someone control it remotely and just has to remember to do that when weather hits?

Thinking about that going up the escalator was literally my only negative experience inside Nintendo World lol

Pro tip: if you’ve already experienced the portal entrance and you’re only going for DK or Yoshi, enter SMW through the exit between the portal and Pizza Moon so you’ll already be on the first level.

One thing I’m not sure about is if you can take the accessible portal entrance (to the side inside the portal which has its own warp pipe), then exit Peach’s castle through the first floor doors to avoid having to take an elevator or stairs. Those doors have been shut each time I visited, so I don’t know if they’re meant to be used in that way, like if they’re unlocked or not.

If it's the doors in front of Peach's castle that I'm thinking of, they are not guest-accessible.

Yeah, those - I didn't know if there was a way to enter SNW through the accessible warp pipe and go straight to the first level using those doors. You can always enter through the exi- I mean, that other way, but this would feel a little less sketchy lol.
