Didn’t @Clive just explain this cycle several pages ago? Sounds like we’re back into the “Execs recommend cutting the Tour” stage before getting into the “No that’s a dumb idea and here’s the stats to show that” stage.

Long term, yes, short term, no. Eventually I could see it going away but they need to add a lot more attractions to compensate first. As it is the tram Tour is essentially half of the USH experience.

Yeah I think the tour is too liked by the GP (and has been since its inception) to be removed. Not to mention it would create an almost unsolvable capacity issue if it was removed (the wait time + ride time is a 1.5-2 hour investment for each guest, not to mention the trams hold a ton of people and are dispatched every few minutes).

To speak to Kong specifically, the Peter Jackson Kong is TWO Kong iterations old at this point. I wonder if a proper Godzilla vs. Kong attraction would make sense to replace this part of the tour. Might be tough rights-wise, since WB releases the GxK movies. Not even a big fan of the movies myself, but I am a Godzilla fan, and I think the movies do well enough to justify an attraction.

I think the eventual path is separation--because I do think at the end of the day that might be seen as a valuable option for exploring the ability to further make the property into a multi-day resort destination, but I do think that really does depend on how Universal can expand and explore USH as a park before that.

We really need that Lower Lot expansion, before we can talk about anything else though.

Space issues and challenges aside, the Hollywood park needs a second gate.

I’ve heard it said that the golf course knows that they’re the only possible spot for expansion and due to that, they’ve set their price for Universal so exorbitantly high that they can’t realistically buy it.

I guess the hope is that the space issue will someday get to the point where Universal is forced to bite the bullet and pay the $90 billion or whatever it is. But we’ve probably got a few decades left before it goes that bad. (If this is true, that is.)

I’ve been saying for a while that Godzilla X Kongfrontation would be the coolest possible addition to the tour. The sheer aura generated by massive animatronics of those two dueling in the middle of a burning city would make up for the decades we’ve spent without the classic Bob Gurr animatronic.
