Keep in mind all the problems they had building a roller coaster on a hillside. Demolishing the Simpsons building and, harder still, replacing it would be a massive pain in the butt.

F&F is drawing huge crowds on the Upper lot, it would be the perfect time to close Simpsons since there is a direct replacement right next to it. I'm not a logistics expert but I could see them finding it appropriate to do it now. Seeing that they just reworked the menus to a few of those resteraunts, and added new drink options to Lardlard I could see them closing the ride first and through phases reworking individual resteraunts. Food options are always swamped at the park so closing a ton of them at once would be a disaster lol.

If they ended up keeping the IP but ENTIRELY replacing the ride with something new and alot better, I'd be a very happy man. But with Disney being Disney, I don't see the park license being renewed. I'll even take only Lardlad staying since that's such an iconic part of Universal.

Personally, I think Pokemon should be on the Lower Lot. Having Fast and Furious, Harry Potter, the Studio Tour, and Pokemon all next to each other would be absolutely brutal in terms of crowds.

I'm going to throw my prediction into the ring and say that it becomes a Potter expansion and the Studio Tour entrance gets moved.

I want Pokemon bad but yeah I just think putting it in that tiny Simpsons area makes just makes less sense then somewhere else

It would be land locked and while USH has never expanded a land before Pokemon or Potter both make the most sense to get more later. Pokemon wont be dying anytime soon even 15 years after the ride opens Pokemon will still be going and have a TON of new characters, so would be something I hope they put somewhere where they can at least consider adding more to it, not saying they have to but saying leave the option open at least

Along with the path already is too busy so it would be hard to put Pokemon there with mini games

I have no clue what is next for USH, could be Simpsons could just be small updates if the hotel drains most of the budget for the next two years, could be the lower lot but I do doubt this but could happen

The 4 options I see best for this land are (in no order)
1) Studio land with a new show and Flex space for a HHN and Fan Fest show (restaurants near F&F become themed to that IP and the three restaurants in the middle of the land become.....Monsters, ET, BTTF, Jaws, Wicked themed...etc)
2) More Potter, its next door and Potter slows no signs of people getting bored of it, so another restaurant should work out well, and maybe another mini show as well the Puppet show would be very cool but I'd assume something like the Deathly Hallows show. Then we get whatever ride makes sense the most with the hill
3) Wicked, a ride through Oz on broom sticks would be cool...I don't want another screen ride but could work if done right with a detailed Q and room for some mini show moments in the land/meet and greets
4) Monsters Land, some sort of ride like Monsters Unchained but would need to be modified to work with the hill

My top two at this point is Studio land or Monsters. Monsters work well because it fits the themeing of Potter next door and is apart of the park history and Studio land because we can get some IPs more permanent homes like BTTF, Jaws etc (maybe even make the bar Monsters themed) and I'd love a new show that could also be used for Fan Fest and HHN, that would be a hugeeeeeeee win. Not only do we get a new show at the park but would allow Fan Fest to get another IP at the event and allow HHN a people eater to help with house lines

I’ve said before but I’ll mention it again: The most logical replacement for the Simpsons Ride would be a show. Given the tricky placement on the hill, that seems to be the most logical replacement for the Simpsons. Also, why obviously a new ride is preferable, the park is at the point to where they can replace a ride for a show, as the park needs anew show. Besides, a new live show > a crappy, outdated simulator.

Now what IP would make the most sense to just be a show? Bourne, but it would have to fit in with the surrounding area. Wicked? That’s possible. But what about Pokemon Stadium?

I just think its too small a space for Pokemon
So you build the land with a show....then what you come out of the ride wanting more and no ride?

I think Pokemon needs a ride and mini games, like if USH does these games right they can have a mini Pokemon Go and get an insane amount of guests to come back just for the games

I 100% agree on a show...we have not had a new show in a longgggggg time and need another people eater anyway and like you said the hill is going to be an issue and I rather not wait 4 more years for something new

I’m gonna say something sacrilegious: I actually don’t think a Pokemon land (Or a mini land) would need a ride. I think a Pokemon Stadium show like the Untrainable Dragon would be a big selling point for a lot of guests. Plus it would be accessible for everyone. I know that isn’t ideal, but there’s only so much real estate this park has to work with, so whatever they add has to knock it out of the park.

All you have to do is reskin the restaurants (I would tear down the pizza and ice cream stands to build a new two story structure for seating) and then replace Simpsons with a show. Use some space for a Pokemon meet and greet (ala Toothless) and you got yourself a nice small Pokemon land.

Pikachu’s Pizzaria and Snorlax Snax have a nice ring to them.

I’m just throwing out ideas here. They could easily raze the Mummy and the adjacent stages and do a full Pokemon land, but I would rather that space be used wisely for something else.

The Dragon Land is also like 5 times bigger and has a coaster and two other rides plus a show

I think a show plus E ticket would make sense but just a show? Unless its always running that means you walk into the land and have to wait hours before Pokemon land has an attraction

With how big of an IP it is, I think i needs it own spot and like SNW got and doesn't have to be too restricted with what is there

If Poke'mon did take over Springfield's area, I would guess there is no way the current food court remains an eatery with the way Poke'mon moves merchandise. That entire facility would be destined to become one giant Poke'mon Center store with the amount of money that franchise prints. That'd leave them with the former Luigi's/Duff/Ice Cream and maybe Kwik-E-Mart spot for some kind of eatery or snacks.

While I think both Pokemon and this park deserve a new show, I don't think the land would be well received without some sort of ride. Maybe there's enough room for both a show and a new simulator if the Studio Tour entrance is moved?

If I was in charge, I'd change the Illumination area into Pokemon. All of the infrastructure is already there and it's pretty much exactly what I'd want from a Pokemon land. Retheme Secret Life of Pets and the flat ride/playground, turn Minion Mayhem into a brand new show, and then add a new Pokemon restaurant where Paris Street is now. Then I'd take out Flight of the Hippogriff and Waterworld and install a new Potter ride there. After that Simpsons becomes a general city area with Fast and Furious, Bourne, and the Studio Tour.

I think this is what will become of Springfield if Pokemon took over. They would probably keep the donut stand and Cletus' since there aren't any other fried chicken places in the park and the donuts are classic (Probably shaped to Jigglypuff or Pokeballs). I culd very well see Moe's and Krusty Burger converted to a PokeCenter store. They could probably cram a meet and greet where Bumble Bee man is.

I think this is a rare instance where they could probably get away with just having a show. Sure people will complain, but what kind if ride could you add in the Simpsons Ride plot that the park really needs? Absolutely not a simulator. Another coaster probably won't happen as F&F was a HUGE mess to deal with on that hillside. Same with a dark ride. I think a show might be the play.

Whoa I actually agree with replacing Illumination with Pokemon. They won't do that though lol

lol

Imagine them getting ride of SLOP after like 5 years. That would really piss people off

Just from all the comments to me its so clear that Pokemon would have to lose some major features if it was on the upper lot....the lower lot once the tech services building is moved along with rumored soundtages ready to be demo'd just makes wayyyyyy more sense.

Like why are we making a land and being like some will be upset its only a show....why would you make the land then knowing it has a big issue or no ride? I want Pokemon now but after SNW, I'm willing to wait for them to have a space for it over forcing it into somewhere thats just not big enough for the IP
Leaving this below to remind people how big the IP is even if you or no one you knows likes it

It wouldn't be getting rid of Secret Life of Pets, just a retheme. Just replace the Pets with Pokemon.

I also don't know if that ride could take the hype

It already gets 45-70 mins waits now. So with People 3+ hours if it was a real people eater like HM, it could handle that but SLOP is a D ticket ride not E ticket and would really be hard to work that out, plus once again we are locking our selves into something.

I don't why the lower lot is not the best area for many but to me it just makes the most sense. We also need a land where people can be Q'd up because the first 18 months of the land are going to be nuts. Like SNW busy when it opens but Pokemon is on a whole other level of Fandom.

Yeah, you've also gotta have room for the copious meet and greets and (hopefully) some kind of a dance party, too, right? I just can't see a version of Pokemon anyone is happy with ending up in the Upper Lot.

Lower Lot is probably the best option after Illumination, but if it's on the Lower Lot I think there's only two options: replacing Mummy or replacing Transformers. Replacing Mummy would be better from a layout standpoint (more room to work with). Replacing Transformers would be easier because apparently the USJ Pokemon ride is using the Spider-Man ride system. Both will be gone at some point, it just depends on how Universal wants to do this.

I’m actually pretty sure Pokemon at USJ will not reuse the Spiderman ride system but will be a different sort of bus bar dark ride.

Rumors are USH is moving the Tech service building and they are also going to build more soundstages making the lower lot more open to destroy some of it that's none theme park and use it for theme Park land

If it makes sense to get ride of Transformers then I do hate to take it from others who love it....but its had a great run and its not like its closing now, I assume it has 4-5 years left

But if they can just use old Studios area for Pokemon then great and hoping its like SNW and is two story but hopefully a little bigger so we have more space for meet and greets and would love the cafe to allow you to ear on the second story and overlook the land

I feel like our SNW is fine but I wish they could have made more two stories area for more games and meet and greet space at least

Plus for park balance I don't think they would want two video game lands on the lower lot next to each other.

For the Simpsons replacement it's going to either be Pokemon of some sort perhaps a single ride different from Orlando or maybe a WB IP if Universal can snag some assets if the deal with Paramount falls through.
