I mean, how much testing does this need? It's a series of security hubs that will operate just like the previous hubs, right? Most of the heavy lifting being done here is being done by the walls, and they don't need any practice.

Personally I'm just thinking more for the sake of logistics. Especially with the fragmentizing and separating of security to separated area's. You are right though that it probably doesn't need much in practice--so perhaps I'm over considering it a bit. Maybe it could also help that the last time we radically changed our security tactics, it was a decade ago and I didn't look as much into that (so maybe I don't remember how quick things flowed into place).

I agree it should not be much testing mostly, how many people do we need at each Gate

Now we have 3....so they are going to be paying more now to run Security. When I've gone on slow weekdays its like 2 lanes open.

So mostly just staffing, but there could be a little bit of a learning curve from people used to just walking into citywalk with food/items they can't have which could slow the process down at the start as well

But yeah, once they open these...I assume they just go from there...would be strange to test it at the event but during the day to send people another way

Yeah, the learning curve is mostly going to be for guests who are used to the system working a particular way. But at the end of the day, Americans (and frankly, most tourists) are well-accustomed to being asked to go through security checkpoints. We've been doing this for more than 20 years, this isn't anything new.

Agreed but....also some guests have been bringing Vaping items out side the park, food is not allowed for Fan fest and people may be bringing snacks for movies or just to eat at citywalk, and so on

Maybe I'm wrong but just throwing that out as a little kinks that could slow down this new system the first weeks to months

No no, I think you’re right — but those are items the security team are already trained to screen out. They’re just expanding the security bubble. I think we agree though that the learning curve will be how guests respond more than it’ll be what the security team has to do.

Do you think they'd close off Citywalk during the day as well or just during the night? I wonder if they'd be willing to kick everyone out before FFN starts...?

No. There are various internal and external tenants that depend on foot traffic. There's no reason to kick everyone out.

Hopefully they get rid of the X-ray machines and just have the metal detectors like Knotts and MM have and the ones at Universal Florida and Disney World. Could eliminate half the security guards then.
