Terrible news. Sending positive vibes not just to the victim’s family, but anyone in the station/on the ride vehicle when this happened (that can definitely be traumatic to see).

Get your bloodwork done at least once a year, folks.

So from Universal Stand point can they do anything more to try to prevent more people from riding this and try to avoid this?

I know Universal and the coaster makers did nothing wrong, more asking if there is even a way to try to prevent this.

We also don't know what happened yet. Until then we can't even determine if there's a fix.

Sad, horrible news. However, one has to wonder if they will be looking at this one even more carefully than usual. Wasn't there a lot done to try to tame one section of the ride before it opened? I recall people saying the forces in one area were too strong. I fear this could be a lawsuit waiting to happen.

Let's ease up on the speculation.

And even then, one incident in ~6 months of continuous operation is such a statistical anomaly.

Not trying to brush off what happened, but 1 out of the sheer number of total riders up to this point doesn’t point to any issues with the ride.

So I think it’s safe to assume this is more than just underlying medical conditions… still don’t want to speculate but wouldn’t be surprised to see Stardust down for a while now depending on what actually happened to cause the impacts.

Wouldn't you receive multiple injuries if you'd passed out on a ride and had your head jostled around between the seat restraints for a few minutes?

Yeah deleted my previous comment, as that is a possibility I did not think of.

How do you get blunt impact injuries on a roller coaster that severe? Surely the design team runs test with limp necked test dummies. I would assume that someone passing out on the lift hill from fear or hyperventilation has to be accounted for. And I'm sure someone has passed out on Stardust prior to this incident.

I'm not disputing the medical examiner, I'm just struggling to understand how it could get to that point.
