Yes, it is smarter from a cost benefit analysis perspective...People get to stare at them and enjoy them longer...I'm glad Universal is getting comfortable with AAs again

People also forget about the talking one inside of one of the DA stores, I forget which one...He will actually answer your questions

Yeah, that's the one in the money changing office. My GF goes in there and carries on a conversation with him. He's the only "person" that'll converse with her.

Funny thing is the lands are essentially copies of each other with a unique shell on the outside. That way the space ports will be the same yet different.

Also so both rides are trackless... Battle one will basically be much like other trackless disney rides with large physical sets and loads of AA's. The MF ride will be a trackless variation of TSMM crossed with Spiderman. That sound right?

First I'm reading that MF is trackless.

I think it would be more like the background pirates and ghosts in PoTC and HM. They're not very advanced either.

Sorry for getting this off track... I moved the posts that were straying into Pandora/DAK.

So SWL. Rumor from @Marni1971 is that after they use the expansion pad within the land, Star Wars would expand into TSL. Likely very far out if ever though.

Yes, the battle attraction (the one with the AT-ATs) will be an LPS while the Millennium Falcon ride will be similar to Mission: Space, but the RV will actually move.

Think the circular theater of CoP mixed with M:S.

I'm curious; will the Falcon's vehicle be similar to M:S? Or will it actually be like you are sitting in the Falcon, to see the details in the cockpit?

As for "Battle", I am curious about one rumor in particular. Could it be, technically possible for elevators to work with a LPS system?

Tower of terror is trackless, though it does utilize RF sensors and not LPS. It's possible.

I have no idea of what the actual ride vehicle will look like, although, i've heard that it will fit 6 per RV, unlike M:S which only does 4. I would hope that we are looking at a larger screen and that it's intricately themed unlike M:S which has a small screen for it's experience.

Keeping fingers crossed it's a big time upgrade. Mission Space is certainly one of the most disappointing big time expensive E tickets ever made. Beautiful building and set up and then the ride isn't terrible, but it's so much less than expected. I greatly prefer Star Tours 2 over Mission Space.

I had heard the Falcon ride will incorporate KUKA arms in its ride system, but that was a long time ago and could have just been hearsay.

Either way I think both of these rides should be really great, and the first rides in WDW in a while that really push the envelope.

I've heard the KUKA talk for this ride as well. I'm really not all that in-tune with the MF ride though, so i'm not the best person to be going off of either.

I'm interested to see if they can pull off the level of interactivity they've talked about here. I really hope it's not a souped up version of M:S and the interactivity is largely window dressing.

Yeah, comparing this to video games, I want this ride to be more GTA and less Uncharted. For those of you that I lost with there, i'm basically meaning I want a ride that has impactful choices vs. a Linear experience (no matter the button to click, same result).

If they are going for interactive, anything less than real, impactful choices (that could alter the ride experience) is a missed opportunity.

Except when it comes to actually flying. You just know some people would intentionally try to crash the ship. Not an impactful choice most would be happy with ;)

The interactivity element of the ride is something I can take or leave. All I really care about is the level of detail inside our ride cabin; if we're not going to be in as close to a 1:1 representation of the Falcon cockpit as is possible, the ride is going to lose lots of points for me.

Oh I can take or leave the interactivity element too.

But if Disney is going to go that route (they have officially stated it would be interactive), then I feel like you either go all out or don't do it at all.

I do agree with that. I'm hoping Disney's bringing a "go big or go home" mentality to Star Wars Land. All guns blazing.

If you're promising I can fly the Falcon, I better freaking fly the Falcon

Yea, no matter how many times I try to crash the ship when piloting on Mission: Space, I somehow always seem to land perfectly and survive. I must be better than I thought.

I get it. Were I Disney, there's no way in hell I'd be promising that at this stage unless I was 100% certain I could deliver on it. For me, since there's no guarantee that I'd be the lucky 1 out of 6 (or however many) to sit in Han's chair, it's not a huge deal, personally. But for people like you, the Imagineers better have something figured out.

There's also the question of how the guest would actually "fly" the craft in the first place. I'm reminded of Harrison Ford (during the filming of the original STAR WARS) asking Lucas, the art department, and pretty much anybody else how he should look like he's flying without any conventional steering apparatus. It's mostly pushing buttons and a few levers.
