We had the front row once, second row twice over all these years. Awful terrible seats on a ride I love. We're usually in the back since we ride Hotel Express often. The back seats were the best for the 3D glasses scenes also. Strangely, those front seats are probably the best seats on the really terrible Fast & Furious Supercharged ride.

Yea other than the dummy driver, the front screen is more immersive (through a window) than the side screens on F&F.

Finally got to ride this without the 3D. I have to say I don’t hate the 3D-less ride anywhere near as much as I thought it would. I think it’s fine without the 3D. While I wouldn’t say this would be in my top 10 rides of the entire resort, it’s still fine. The queue line is nicely themed.

They better not touch the 3D in Spiderman though because that ride actually needs the 3D. Despite the screen fatigue that ride still holds up very well!

I missed the 3D a lot on all ride segments the first times I rode it without 3D. After a ton of rides, I'm getting used to it a bit on the 360 degree screen segment. But the two scenes as you enter the cave are considerably lessened in effect by the 3D loss. Those scenes were good primarily due to the 3D effects. But, I'm happy the outdoor section, open/closing gate and flames are back. That scene/experience sets up the entire ride and is crucial to the ride being something 'special'. Kong is still one of my favorite attractions at Universal, but not quite as good as it was originally. It drops from my previous 9/10 rating (my ratings includes facades and queues, plus the ride) to a 6/7 now.

Ratatouille surprisingly is just fine in 2D for me. I may like it even better. Kong I felt pretty similar. I likely would have liked it a little bit more but its fine. As @Mad Dog said- going outside with the fire and chants and gate is way more important than 3D for the experience there.

Minions; however, is significantly worse without 3D. Terrible move for that one.
