Ridership has never recuperated from the twin disasters. The outside closed for a long time, but finally reopened. But the 3D was taken away, probably for financial reasons. What used to be one of the longest 3 or 4 standby lines in the entire resort (IOA & USF), is now one of the shortest. The guests have spoken. The attraction needs 3D, for which it was designed. I'm glad they fixed the outdoor portion, that was badly needed since its essential for the set up and ambiance of the attraction. But they need to bring 3D back or do a number of practical set redos to bring the ride experience up to par.
