Went on Saturday

Two of the Kids Flat Rides in the rescue Jr was closed. Atlantis was closed. The Sky Buckets were closed most the day at least, was not back there the last two hours but most the day it had a sign saying it was closed.
The Swings ride, Jellyfish exhibit and and coasters had lines all the day until closing.
Rapids ride was running but we ate dinner near it and saw at times boats be 5 mins apart so not idea what that was about

New Orca show is good but my wife only knew it was somewhat new because I pointed out some of the music

Saw the baby Shark show the theater was PACKED. Never seen it this busy since covid. Baby Shark characters had a huge line to meet them......so hoping sea world can partner with them it seems like kids want to meet and see these characters so if somehow they can make a deal and get a show and meet and greet as part of the park I think this would be a win for the park

The new summer Kids show was not happening Saturday, we went to the theater and only one TM was around and he said only yhr baby shark show was happening and no idea why the app and online said other wise. (compared to Disney and USH sea World reallllllly trusts it guests at points I could go like mins without walking into a TM in some areas)

We saw the Pirates Show at like 3 PM and was mostly full but still plenty of spots

We then saw the BMX show and enjoyed it enough to see the 8 PM nighttime show. If you grew up in the 90s you should like the bike show

We had two Quick Q's and went on Arctic rescue and Manta at night my favorite time to go on both of these and yep basically walked on with the passes (one thing I will say they do better then anyone is making the paid Quick Q's....quick. But they are slow with operations and the lines for coasters to me are there because of the TM's training and rides like Arctic rescue not having an exit station to speed the process up, also it does not help they have some big restrictions on people's waist size and twice we saw someone removed on Manta the first time we waited on it

Asked the TMs at the shark area about the attraction being redone and they looked confused and had no idea about the permits being filed.

Penguins have no one to ask....so yeah just went in twice and enjoyed it

The back area near the baytheater was all torn down and hoping they can get something in there next year but with rumors of two exhibits going down by next year not sure if I will get my pass again or not. I love the park but operations to me just could be better, I will saw the moble ordering works but also we paid like an arm and leg for.....food that is fine. No ice in machines were upseeting many guests along with conderiments running out, I went and told them and they did refill them but feels like the park is about you having to self report anything unlike Disney and USH which seem to have TMs making sure things are running smoothy

Anyway we had a long fun day just wish most rides were open for the opening day for summer. I would also like to see live music somewhere its the one thing missing from this event all the other events get live music but beside the BMX show only DJ's

If your going to the park, pack a lunch in the car and rope drop if you want to get on the rides/Jellyfish without waiting a long time.

SeaWorld tends not to tell their educators anything about plans in Orlando, they didn't even know that the emperor penguins were on exhibit there. Also, the plan for the back area where Tidal Twister was, from what I heard, was an expanded rescue area with public viewing like what they did with Turtle Trek in Orlando, but that is lower priority than the shark and penguin projects.

On another note, the humble penguins backstage and by the dolphins are also getting removed soon, leaving just the Magellanic penguins for the new exhibit. Hopefully, the new exhibit is large and elaborate, with other South American bird species on display, but we will have to wait and see.

I hope they do a penguins and Puffins exhibit

Like focusing on them and making really cool area's to view them could be a way to make up for just losing one of the best experiences in the park..but my expectations are low for now

Also going to be honest disappointed to hear the back area isn't going to be used for the park but mostly a viewing area

I don't think puffins can live outside in San Diego, so they would have to build an entirely new building for them, which they won't do. Also, puffins live on the opposite side of the world from the penguins, so even if they could live outside in SD, they would still need a separate exhibit. Also, the tide pool touch pools in the back would likely come back when the new thing back there opens. SeaWorld is also required to be like 60% educational, so they have to keep large portions of the park as non-theme park rides.

So are the Puffins just gone to? I was not expecting them to live in the same area but the same exhibit hopefully

I mean they had a flat ride and exhibit in the back area....so I was hoping for a new exhibit and a flat ride. Hopefully the new showcase area is cool but the park needs more things to soak up people

The puffins are likely going to be permanently removed in November, with the rest of the penguins in Penguin Encounter. But the Riptide rescue flat ride by Turtle Reef does have permits filed to be moved, and replaced with a restaurant, likely as part of the shark encounter project, so it could end up in that plot, the rescue theme would fit the new exhibit.
