I love rope drop strategies! My wife and I went to Epic back in Feb (right after the cold snap, thankfully). It was two days in the park and we had EPA.
First day, we went straight to Wizarding World. Second day, SNW. The goal for both days was to knock out the big ride in the first land, and then save the big ride in the other land for the end of the day. And honestly? Worked great. Maybe we just had good luck, but on both days, the wait times first thing in the morning and last thing in the evening were like 45-55 minutes. Both rides.
The only thing we changed up the second day was not popping over immediately to Dark Universe. MU was essentially a walk-on both days; Werewolf would ebb and flow but stayed pretty consistently in that 30-55 minute range, so not something that had to be gameplanned (same thing with Stardust). On day two, we moseyed to Berk after SNW and got DK and Hiccup's done in about 90 minutes, which felt like a win. (Took us 90 minutes the day before to do Hiccup's on its own.) Should also caveat that we've been on MK a bunch in Hollywood so that was an easy skip, and we were in Osaka in Sept and didn't really need to do Yoshi again (unlike DK, which we were dying to do again).
Definitely recommend taking that bookend strategy when visiting during the Jan-Feb "slow" time like us. (Slow in quotes because it was not slow at all, haha). Pick one biggie for the front end and one for the back end. Prioritize Berk over Darkmoor. Only thing I can't speak to is how to gameplan for MK and Yoshi, because those weren't a factor for us.
