The Grinch is one of my favorite movies. Not even holiday movies... I truly think it's one of my favorites. :lmao:

So I am hella excited for this. Give me all the reboots & sequels. Even if they don't all end up that great, here's some great news: THEY DO NOTHING TO THE ORIGINAL!

It remains... exactly the same at that! I always find it so funny that people always act like it somehow doesn't.

I'm kinda puzzled on one thing, is it even gonna be live action? Pretty sure Audrey Geisel forbade any further live action Seuss adaptations after how Cat in The Hat turned out with how much they doubled down on the adult humor. Though now that I type this I see she died in 2018, I wonder if the Seuss estate still upholds that restriction or not.

The Universal stuff around the holidays is great. I do think the Grinch actors at the parks have also helped strengthen my love for that movie.

Actually, it was the Grinchmas show that gave me a reason to revisit the Carrey Grinch movie. If not for the Universal show, I'd probably still be passing on the movie. As you said, the Grinch actors do a great job.

Elephant in the room here - hasn't Jim Carrey talked about how completely miserable he was getting the makeup done for the movie? He's now in his mid 60s, and I can't imagine he'd want to deal with it again.

All this to say.. good lord they might do a CGI Grinch

Who’d made a good “new” Grinch? Eric Andre?

That's very fair! Sequels in most cases shouldn't mar the OG.

That said - And Just Like That absolutely obliterated my love of the original Sex and the City series. So unfortunately a sequel really can be that bad for me  :sob:

I'm sure they threw an enormous sack of money at him and also showed how the prosthetics/vfx process has gotten easier on actors in the 26 years since the last movie. I don't see them doing full CGI Grinch. Maybe a mo-cap face with a practical suit.

Or maybe he's more willing to do stuff where he's hidden under makeup and CGI after he went viral the last time he stepped out in public :p

So what you're saying is "the impudence, the audacity, the unmitigated gall!" of this movie?
